Please throw all advice you can my way regarding a trip to Disney during this week right now. This Thursday and Friday is the annual NJ Teacher Convention and our son has off from school. Does seem like the ideal time of year for us to go (taking into consideration our schedules). We would like to plan for this week next year. I welcome all comments, both pro and con, and any suggestions. I need to know everything possible to make a good, informed decision. Weather, crowds, etc......thanks!!:hippie:

Con is, it's "Jersey Week."

(I'm only just barely kidding.)

It's very, very busy in WDW at that time.

I purposely chose NEXT WEEK b/c Jersey Week and Thanksgiving week are so crowded.

wait times right now (from my iPhone) are:
40 space mtn
25 Buzz Lightyear
35 Astro Orbiter
80 big thunder mtn
30 haunted mansion

We plan on going this week next year, "Jersey Week". I haven't been to WDW during Jersey Week since 2005 so I am no expert but that year was also Super Soap Weekend at DHS and F&W at Epcot and I still don't think the crowds were as bad as they were during a July trip.

It seems crowds increase every year for this week. I am watching very closely for reports from this year but even if they say it was crazy I'm still thinking it is better than the only other alternative times we could go, Thanksgiving or the month of July. I just plan on going to the recommended lowest crowd parks for each given day according to touring plans and easywdw.

We've been twice during Jersey week (My mom was a NJ teacher...although she retired recently...). The weather is great, the Christmas decorations are up, and although it's not empty, I didn't find it that crowded. (We are rope droppers who follow a touring plan though, so we don't usually wait no matter when we go.) You will find lots of people from NJ there though. It's almost comical.

Your problem will be flight prices - book well in advance. MOC will be mobbed on Sunday.

This is exactly what I thought to be true in reading all over this board. And how is the weather?? Temperature? Rain like in July or August??
