NJ DVC members sound off!! (Navy folks too!!)

We were born and raised here... DW, Yardville near Trenton. DH Paramus outside NYC. We now live in Absecon, near Atlantic City. We work in the Casinos and find our industry great for owning DVC! Our slow time here is the same as WDW's slow time. We get a lot of vacation time in WDW!!!

I hope you don't mind if a Mainer chimes in. Our DS lives in Mays Landing so we have visited several times and enjoyed your state. The horse farms, blueberry fields and coastal towns are very enjoyable. As one who spent most of our time whizzing down the NJ Turnpike, it was really wonderful to see another side of the state. We also were delighted to see your Power folks back in 1998. After being without power for 14 days due to the ice storm, your Power Trucks and workers were a truly welcome sight. We think they're great!: sunny:

As a Department of the Army civilian and mother in law to a former Navy Corpsman, I would like to salute all of the military folks for their service, and give you all a great big THANK YOU!!: :wave2:

We're right across the bridge from Ocean City :sunny:

WDW home is BWV since last August - love the boardwalk so much we wanted to call it 'home' - love seeing Lucy the Elephant in the lobby - worked summers in a little coffee shop right next to her when I was a teenager!!

Nephew is a Naval Academy grad - we spent many weekends in Annapolis and at the football games . . .

GO NAVY !!!:smooth:

Hi,
We're in Titusville, the NJ side of the reenactment of GW's crossing of the Delaware.

Moved here from WI (DH from IL) in 1988....haven't felt like moving back yet. :) Can't understand what Letterman seems to have against NJ....certainly not the jungle of concrete he led us to believe it would be. Very pretty state!!!!

Wife and I were both born and raised in Clifton NJ. Moved to South Jersey (5 miles in land of Sea Isle City) about 16 years ago.

North West Jersey!
Originally from Long Island (Island Park)- *hopped* from there to Butler (NJ) then *skipped* to New York State and *jumped* back to Jersey living in Oak Ridge. DH and I have two DD's and one of our favorite places to visit besides DW is Cape May. In two hours we can drive from the hills and mountains to the sand and surf of Cape May.
I have yet to hear of anyone that might be further northwest than I am. HELLO-anyone out there?!:wave2:

We are from Cherry Hill, about 6 miles east of Philadelphia.

---Paul in Southern NJ

I work in Mt Laurel, right off of Springdale Rd.

Hammonton, Blueberry Capital of the World. Packed those little "blue" berries when I was growing up. (Eating them now as a matter of fact) BWV is our "Home Away from Home".

NJmouse...I have a container, (well, sort of a container-half eaten) of Hammonton Blueberries in the fridge. Just where is Hammonton?

My husband and I grew up on Long Beach Island and now live in Medford (20 minutes from Philadelphia).

We just bought into Saratoga Springs (deed recorded June 22-yipee!), but most of my family love Boardwalk. We'll be staying at Beach Club Villas for the first time in September and Saratoga Springs/Boardwalk next December.

Hello carone, did you ever go see the travelling Mickeys?

I, too, have noticed that a lot of New Jerseyans are DVC members. Maybe we know something everyone else doesn't;)

We have flown a couple of times and driven once, but we will probably drive from now on since we have 4 children:eek: I actually don't mind the drive. It's nice to not have to go go go and we can relax and talk.

Have DVD, will travel!

Not yet, my kids have been sick :( ! I am hoping that I might get there this weekend, I would also like to go see the tall ships that will be there from 7/1 - 7/4. I am trying to convince dh, but there is a really big soccer game on tv on 7/4 and I know he doesn't want to miss it. I tried to tell him that that is what tivo is for, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. He may cave ;) .

Hammonton is in South Jersey. Halfway between Philly and Atlantic City. If you look on a map follow Rt 206 south until it ends. You will find Hammonton.

What is the name of the farm it came from?

Egg Harbor City... Hammonton... Egg Harbor Township... Mays Landing... with all of you guys around South Jersey how come we never run into anyone while we're out and about'.
We have a DVC license plate in the back window, and wear Disney or DVC stuff everywhere. Yet no one ever knows what DVC is!!! How can that be!

By the way We are in Absecon.

Hammonton Blue Berries are the World's Greatest!

Let's not forget Jersey Tomato's and Corn!!!

Ummm, or should I say Yum....the container is no longer in my possession and the same goes for the *BLUEBERRIES*.:teeth:
I wish I could remember the farm name. Thanks for the directions! I over heard a person at the grocery store say "blueberries from NJ, it's about time." :yo-yo: ;)

My DW and I were born and raised in Hamilton Twp (Mercer) and still live here to this day. NJ is a great state, though people always seem to like to put it down.

Bought into the DVC @ SSR w/250pts in October 2003 - paid DVC loan off 5/2004. So it's all ours, nothing but the maint. dues now!!!

Bacs22, have a wonderful trip! We lived behind the Hess station on Rt. 33 for many years. I taught in Hamilton HS West, math, in the late 60's early 70's.

I just got off the phone making a ressie for Memorial weekend '05 and had a CM who was from Dayton NJ originally, we talked a bit about NJ. I love coming back to this thread to read everyone's story.

Bobbi:D

I am from Deptford NJ. It is about 15 min. outside of Philly.

We bought into SSR in Feb 04. Can't wait until our first trip home - Oct. 17-21. It really is funny how many Jersey DVC members there are - I would have never thought! :D

Just look for a black Chevy S-10 Sport Side Truck with an Italian Mickey Head antenna topper and Stickers in the back window "DVC" and "BWV". That's us!! We usually are around Consumer Square or find us on the Ocean City Streets on the weekends.
