Precisely this. The Switch is definitely the best system for younger children. Much more family friendly games. Basically anything Mario will be great, as would Pokemon or Animal Crossing.I think the Switch is very appropriate for that age group. Any Mario games should treat him pretty well.
I agree with the two controller idea as you can technically play some things with one “half” of what it comes with (one kid uses red and other blue) but to do most things effectively it’s better to have two.Thank you!!
Do I need to buy one for each kid or could I buy one with an extra controller?
I don't know much about gaming systems so please bear with me with the questions lol!
I bought one for them and will probably end up buying another set of controllers at some point. At $70 though I'm not running out to get it right away. A lot of the games that kids can play together only need half the controller.Thank you!!

My 8 year old daughter has asked for a Nintendo Switch for Christmas. We also have a 6 year old. We currently don't own a gaming system, aside from their Amazon tablets.
Thoughts for this age group? Recommended games?
Thanks!

One more thing - target and bestbuy are constantly doing price drops on games and I’ve bought many for $12-$14My 8 year old daughter has asked for a Nintendo Switch for Christmas. We also have a 6 year old. We currently don't own a gaming system, aside from their Amazon tablets.
