We ate at Nine Dragons on 9/15 and were pleasantly surprised! We do have good Chinese food where we live, and we thought that the food at Nine Dragons was tasty!
We had a noon ADR and were seated by the window, a nice location. The restaurant was nearly empty (during free dining!) and the service was excellent. Two times we had managers come by and ask about our meal. Our server was friendly and took the time to talk about Chinese characters to us. She even gave us extra placemats to bring home so we could practice our writing.
We all enjoyed our entrees! The General Tso chicken I had was very good with just the right amount of spice. My only criticism is that there should have been some steamed or stir fried veggies on the side. That would have rounded out the meal nicely and have added color to the plate.
Ds had noodles and shrimp and cleaned his plate.
Ds enjoyed the honey chicken. I had a bite and it was good.
For dessert, the kids liked their ginger cake. I gave it a try and didn't care for it as much as they did. I had the caramel ginger ice cream, which was OK but not a favorite. Although the desserts didn't wow me (which is fine, as China isn't as big on sweets as Americans are), the entrees and service were good. I'm glad we gave Nine Dragons a try!
