Nine Dragons portion size

Hi! After doing a search to get some opinions on this restaurant I saw a few people said that the portion sizes are small. Just how small? It will be me, dh, ds(13) and ds(7). After looking at the menu, I was thinking that we would get 3 entrees, maybe soup for ds(7) and an appetizer for all of us to share. I am just not sure if it will be enough food for the four of us. I figured I wouldn't even bother with a kids meal for ds(7) since he really doesn't like sweet & sour chicken - he would much rather eat the offerings from the adult menu. I guess you would call us moderate eaters - not excessive, but not the type who shares entrees at a typical restaurant. What do you think?

We left a lot of food behind - if I remember right, we ordered the Lunch Sampler for 2 (2 soups, happy family, honey sesame chicken, and stir fry veggies) with an additional entree (sweet and sour pork, I think) and split them between the 3 of us (all adults, all big eaters). We ate here last October and the portions are not definately small. It's a really good meal but I didn't think it was any better than the Chinese you can get back home. After a few more trips, we will eat here again. We are still trying to eat at every sitdown in Epcot and I think this upcoming trip we will be able to do that.

We are a family of 4 big eaters. We went to Nine Dragons at lunch and ordered the Lunch Sampler for 4 plus two appetizers. I wouldn't call it a lot of food but it was certainly enough for all of us. It is a bit pricey but we all loved it and DS 14, who is the pickiest eater I know actually tried some new items and loved them. He still raves about the food there over 6 months later.

I find the portion sizes on the entrees are good, but the portion sizes on the appetizers can go either way. For example, the beef skewers with spicy cha cha sauce included three very small pieces of meet (maybe an ounce of beef tops). While they are delicious, at $7.99, it was a rip off. The pot stickers have four small pot stickers on them.

I think you'll be fine sharing the entrees, but you may want to plan on a couple of the appetizers if you decide to get appetizers.

Last June we had what turned out to be the best meal during our stay at Nine Dragons. We thought the portions were very good and very delicious. I had a large piece of white fish with a great sauce. Don't remember what DS had but he cleaned his plate. You may want to consider some of their special dishes instead of the normal Chinese food that you can get anyplace.
Nine Dragons is now on our MUST list for future trips.
