This trip my brother and sister-in-law are joining DH and me. She is from China--she's only been here for about three years. I want to eat at 9 Dragons so she can experience her native language, etc., but I am afraid that the food will not be authentic enough. I've never eaten at this restaurant since it's not my favorite cusine. Any thoughts?

Also, she is more of a light/veg./fish/seafood eater. I REALLY want to eat at Le Cellier, but I want her to have something to eat & enjoy. I have looked at menus, but I want to hear if anyone has enjoyed non-steak items in Canada.

Any help would be wonderful!

We ate here several years ago, and the food was like your regular neighborhood Chinese take out. The food was good, but I don't know how authentic it is.

From what I understand, it is a very 'Americanized' version of Chinese cooking. Many of the Cast Members are from China so she may enjoy that.

I don't find the food here very authentic. I have often eaten in China Town, (Wash DC) which has some wonderful Chinese restraurants. I find the food at 9 Dragons very mild, even when we request hot, it never is. It would be fun to hear what she thinks of the food, but I personnally find the Chinese food in my home town neighborhood to be much better.

Thanks! I may not make a PS and let her decide. I thought it might be nice for her to be able to show off her Chineese. Although she would be polite about the food not being up to home standard, she would be able to tell me what to post when I get back.
