I checked out the menu and it shows Taste of China for $14.95 at lunchtime. It says unlimited servings... Is it a buffet? Or do they bring the food over to you? And for those who have eaten here.. Is the food any good??? Thanks!

I am not sure what the Taste of China entails, but I can tell you this. Every person I have ever spoken to that has eaten here has not been impressed. I have heard complaints about the quality of the food and about the prices as well.

Now, I have not eaten there myself, but I hesitate to because of the bad reviews. If I hear of some positive feedback from at least a few people, I may consider trying it out. :)

Repeating what CAK said, I have never eaten there, but have *never* heard anyone with anything good to say about the restaurant. Considering the large variety of people and tastes on this board, that send a significant message.

Don't believe all of the negative press--we listened for far too long and avoided 9 Dragons. Last spring there was a plethora of nice reviews for 9 Dragons and in particular the Taste of China lunch. We figured what the heck and gave it a whirl in June! Our entire family (husband, son-14, and daughter, 12) LOVED IT!

The sampler is served family style--the server brings the items in courses and will bring more of whatever you want. The food in the Taste of China was good--maybe we've never eaten WONDERFUL Chinese food and are simply uneducated ;) , but we really enjoyed all of the offerings in the Taste of China lunch.

Our kids were just talking about this meal today and it's a definite do again next June. We've tried nearly all of the restaurants in EPCOT. We had always skipped 9 Dragons and Alfredo's because of the negativity surrounding these two. Now that we've done 9 Dragons, maybe we should be giving Italy a shot--who knows, the naysayers may just be wrong!

BTW, everyone should try these restaurants for themselves and use the reviews for what they are--opinions. Many people LOVE Biergarten--we didn't, but we gave it a shot and I was certain we'd enjoy it--didn't happen. You never know what suits you and yours until you try it for yourself. :p

We tried the Taste of China for lunch this summer and really really enjoyed. It surprised me as I have read so many bad reviews on this restaurant.

I say if you like the menu go and try it for yourself.

Alfredo's was also good. Yes the tables are close together but anyone who has actually been in Italy will testify that it's really authentic as far as atmosphere and the closeness of the tables.

We too heard the bad reviews but decided to try it one day when the kids were starving one lunchtime. It was great.

Yes, it can be expensive, so be careful you don't overorder. Last time we were there for dinner with a family of 6, it was 150 bucks (includes tip and three Tsing Tao's for me). We should have ordered one less entree, and I ordered the appetizer sampler and ended up being the only one to eat from it.

If I hear a restaurant has issues, I tend to stay away as well. But the staff at Nine Dragons has always been very nice. The manager made a point of visiting our table and chatting last time we were there. She was an American, not a native Chinese, like most of the staff. We are picky about Chinese food, but always look forward to Nine Dragons.

Another one here.Don't believe all the negative stuff that is in the past. You can never please everyone and everyone has their own tastes but most of the negative reviews have came from people who have not dined there in the last few months. We always thought it was the worst but it has done a 180 degree turnaround. The Taste of China will leave you stuffed.:)

We had The Taste of China lunch a couple of weeks ago. It was well worth the money. Our family including DSs 6 and 8 absolutely loved it!

We are trying the Taste of China in Jan! I have heard only good things about this new luch item. So far EVERYONE loves it, right?
