You have all been so helpful in your camera advise, but I have another question. What is the difference between:

A Nikon N65 with the letters QD in its name versus one that does not have the QD?

Right now there is a $60.00 rebate on this camera, and I also have a 10% off at Best Buy. This would make for a great deal.

Could someone please help me.

Thanks and have a great day.

Hi there! I believe the QD camera has the feature that will print the date out on the front of your pictures. I recently bought a Canon SLR and went without the date feature. I got tired of seeing those numbers on all my prints...especially when I did enlargements. I think it takes away from the print. JMHO

momoftwins,

I too am looking for a new 35mm camera. Can you tell me more about this Nikon N65, and where you can get the $60 rebate from? Thanks!

Cindala, for the money the Nikon N65 seems to be a good around choice for an SLR camera. I also really like the Canon EOS ti Rebel. I read reviews on Epinions and Amazon, among others. Right now, it looks like for this camera there is a rebate offer.

I found this camera at Best Buy Stores. I don't know if you have one near you. Anyway, here is the link. BUT: THE REBATE IS ONLY VALID THRU TOMORROW!!! - at least thru Best Buy.

Right below the description of the camera is a link to the rebate form.

Now with that being said, I have noticed lots of disboarders agree that these kinds of cameras are bulky to carry around the parks. So, I am also looking at the Olympus Stylus 170. General consensus is that this is also a good camera. But this is just a point and shoot.

Oh, woo is me. I have to make up my mind by tomorrow. I really do not know what to do. By the way, I do not know if you do have Best Buys near you, but they are having a sale on digital cameras this week with no financing charges for 18 months.

For me. I'm not quite ready for the 21st century - LOL. Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. I too have been looking at reviews and features on cameras at Epinions, and Amazon. I stumbled across a camera that seems to be consistantly highly rated, and is currently on sale at smartbargains.com

It is the Samsung Maxima Zoom 105GL Camera, currently priced at $59.99 at the above site. I never would have thought to look at a Samsung, I was always checking out Canon, Minolta, Nikon, etc. However, this camera is loaded with many added features, such as bulb mode, macro photography for closeups, continuous shooting, and has a 38-105mm zoom as well. It is not a huge camera either, but stylishly sized. I read several reviews from people who have used it for years. It holds up well, is very versatile, and takes great pictures.

The price can't be beat! A few years ago, this camera regularly sold for $150+, but to make room for newer models I guess, it's on sale.

Check it out on Epinions, and see for yourself!
