So after getting some well deserved down time at the pool, we had to get around for our ADR at Ohana.
You know, you'd think it would be easier to have 2 boys verses girls as far as getting around. I am here to tell you boys primp just as much as girls.
Anyway, we decided tonight we were going to take the bus to MK, then hop the monorail to the Poly. This is the one and only time we used the bus. It really wasn't a bad experience, I just didn't like it. I think we made 2 or 3 stops on our way.
We just don't have to do this when we drive.
We had some time to kill before dinner so we decided to check out the Gingerbread house at The Grand Floridian.
Stop at The Contemporary, The TTC, The Polynesian and finally The GF. It sure is a lot of stops.
We get out and suddenly feel like The Clampetts. We totally felt outclassed by this place. It was just beautiful. We go inside and see the Gingerbread House from the balcony. It was gorgeous.
A little dark, but it really is there.
We get in the elevator and there is a place to put your room key. We just kind of look at each other like what do we do now? I seriously thought you needed a room key to make the elevator move
!
Then I feel even more stupid when this nice lady with a stroller gets in and explains the whole concierge thing to us. We didn't need the key to go to the bottom.
Oh Steerage! It's kind of like the whole Titanic thing!
Who Knew????
Probably all of you, but us Clampetts didn't have a clue. Thanks to the nice lady who learned us!!
We get off the elevator and are struck with the most wonderful smell.
Gingerbread!!
Oh I so could have eaten this House.
I was just about to go around to purchase some cookies when this lady comes up and offers us a sample.
I love samples! Especially when I am planning on buying the same thing.
Nikki did NOT like the cookie! Yucky!
It really was gross. The boys didn't like it either. Jay doesn't do samples so he will never know.
We got back in the elevator and this time we knew exactly what to do.
Just press the stinkin button!!!
We got out and just admired the view. It's so beautiful. Almost takes you back to another time. Or parallel universe. whatever you prefer.
The band.
Very Very nice resort! But I like Boardwalk better.
We got back on the monorail. I really didn't give this whole thing much thought because we really spent a lot of time on the monorail.
Stop at MK, Stop at Contemperary, Stop at TTC, finally back around to the Poly.
This place is awesome. I could definitely stay here. How beautiful.
It was very easy to find Ohana and we were immediately checked in and given a buzzer. There were a lot of people waiting so we went to check things out. As soon as we stepped outside, the buzzer went off.
We didn't get a seat with a great view, but we really didn't care either. We were hungry! We were served our Salad, Shrimp, Wings and drinks.
We were digging into them and she brings out these warm wet towels for our messy wing fingers. They were great. So much better than a wetnap!
Suddenly all this food kept coming. There were potatoes, veggies, Steak, Turkey, Sausage and Pork. A meat lovers fantasy!!
We ate and ate and ate! The salad was great. The lime dressing was out of this world.
I've heard people say they felt rushed, but we weren't. Nothing was taken off our table that we didn't want taken off our table. The meat never stopped, it kept coming and coming.
After our bellies were full, the Cousin cleared our table and told us she would get us desert.
We waited.
And waited.
And waited.
She kept coming by saying it would be right out. Okay, about half an hour later it WAS right out. We were a little miffed.
Until...........................
We took a bite. Oh my goodness gracious, this Bread Pudding was the most fantastic thing I have ever tasted. I wish we could have eaten more but we were stuffed. Even if we weren't stuffed it would have been closing time before we got more.
All in all this was a WONDERFUL meal.
I highly recommend it.
I wanted to look around a bit so we went downstairs and outside. It was so pretty with the torches all lit.
The pictures just do not do it justice.
We checked out the gift shop and hopped back on the monorail. We rode it back to MK, got off and got on the one to Epcot.
