Nikki's trip report~Finally Complete! Come read. Pg 25

You Americans don't know anything bout' getting hammered with snow - just sayin'
Oh, I won't argue with you there. This is just the first snow we've had like this in years. It was nice to see.

Me too!!!!!!!!

Oh, are we still talking about cars?
Nope, not me!! I love a great 8-pack too!

I just wanted to give a shout-out to Ty (disneyaddicted) and thank her for the postcard from Disney. It was a pretty exciting moment since the 5 friends I have never go anywhere to send me a postcard!!

Thanks Ty!!

I'm hoping to get a new chapter up tomorrow if anyone out there is reading this!!!

I'm reading and waiting!!!!!

About 45 minutes later we start to see all the Disney exit signs. Oh my gosh, my heart started beating fast, adrenaline started running. This chicky poo was getting excited.

We worked so hard this year saving money, planning, making arrangements and it was finally going to happen. Yes, there were tears. Of course no one in the truck seemed to understand, so they just picked on me. I'm pretty abused when it comes to my tears. But that's alright.

We take the exit to Pop Century, quite fast I might add. I just needed to "be" there.

Of course we had to take the picture that shows you are leaving the real world and entering the world of happiness, my world.

We followed the signs to the Pop. Pulled up to the shed and a lady comes out and asks for my Drivers License. I hand it to her and her and her partner start checking out the truck. The must have oooh'd and ahhhh'd over it for 15 minutes. We had quite the line behind us. If you were behind me, I am deeply sorry, not my fault.

I parked the big truck, let me tell you this is not an easy task when you are used to your little jeep. Robby went in with me to check in. My goodness there was quite the line.

I'm thinking Hello, this is supposed to be a slow week. What are all you people doing here?? I realized it was only the Friday after Thanksgiving and still pretty busy, but people were supposed to be checking out, not in.

I waited for a good half hour, finally got my packet and we were off to find our room for the next 2 nights. We were in the Bowling Pin area. 80's?? I just love Pop, it is so Disney. The only thing I don't like is how far away you have to park to get to your room. The only Disney Resort we have stayed at was Old Key West and you pretty much park right next to your room.

SO, this was a surprise. We had a LOT of stuff to haul. It was kind of late to get a cart now. So we loaded up and went. Well we were on the 3rd floor and I swear my suitcase was at least 80lbs. I managed though.

It was funny I had looked at the room key when I got into the truck after checking in, but that was it. When we were walking from the truck to the room, I had us on the 1st floor. We got to the room and all the windows were decorated, I thought WOW, look what mousekeeping did. We tried the room keys and they didn't work. Hmmmmm Wonder why??

Nobody was very happy with me after that!:confused3

The room was nice. But after the room in Daytona a tent would have been nice. It was a very simple room, nothing more than what I expected. A place to hang our heads and wash our butts.

We were pretty hungry at this point, so what is the next Disney thing to do? Downtown Disney!!

Oh the parking was something terrible, and the crowds were the same. That place was FREAKING PACKED! I just kept telling myself they will all be gone tomorrow or Sunday. And Smile. What are you going to do?

I just love this tree they have in front of the Toy Store.

I had my heart set on Earl of Sandwich for quite some time. So this is where we made our way to. The sandwiches were awesome. I thought they were going to be warm and toasted, so this was a minor disappointment. But they were still good. Man, I could go for one right now.

I wanted to check out the Disney Sport store. For the life of me I can't remember the name. I really wanted something that had Disney and the Detroit Tigers on the same thing. My 2 favorites. All the baseball stuff they had in there and all I could find was a hat. This didn't make me very happy. They can make it to the world series, they play games at the Wide World of Sports in the preseason, but all they had was a hat with a D on it!!

I quickly got over it and looked around the rest of the store. Tried on some other hats.

I think it's so me. What do you think??

We wanted to walk around a little more but I'm telling you it was really hard to get around with all the wall to wall people. So we left and went back to Pop.

It was almost dark when we got back to the room. The boys and I got our swimsuits on and headed to the pool. It was pretty chilly out to be in nothing but a bathing suit. I'd say around 60?? So I was a little worried about the temp of the water. Matt got right in and told me it was warm. But his warm and my warm are 2 different things. You know how teenagers can be so I was pretty worried he wasn't telling me the truth.

IT WAS WARM! As a matter of fact it felt like a great big bath tub. It was perfect!! There were only a handful of people in there with us. We pretty much had it all to ourselves. A great big bowling pin to swim in.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but when I swim with the boys I become the pool toy. They pick me up and try to throw me, I say try because I can't go under water without holding my nose. So I have to beg and plead for them to not do it. We were probably in there for an hour and a half. It was awful getting out of there. Pretty chilly.

We went back up to the room. Matt jumped ahead so he could get in the bathroom to change first. Robby and I are standing at the door freezing. I grabbed my sweatshirt and tried to do that Flashdance thing. I put my sweatshirt over my head and tried to get the straps off underneath it as I was pulling it down. It was going pretty good.

Just as I thought I was going to make it, I lost control of the strap, and Robby got to see what every son NEVER wants to see. He started crying. Well it was fake, but still. I was laughing so hard my gut hurt. Poor Kid!

I didn't bother with the bottoms. Don't want to send him over the top.

By this time we are all hungry again. It was around 8:30 when we all got changed. We headed to the Food Court. I was really surprised at all the selections. We got our food and headed back to the room to eat.

This is what Jay and I got. I know the look like meatball subs, but really they were major heartburn on soggy bread. Oh my gosh, it was terrible. They weren't bad tasting, but I had to take almost a whole roll of tums to feel better.

After we were done eating I went out to take some pictures.

Another perfect day was over. Tomorrow was going to be our first day in the parks. Magic Kingdom to be exact. I was on a mission to make rope drop so I made everyone go to bed. We were pretty tired anyway.

Hey everyone, Have a Very Merry Christmas and Stay Safe!

Awesome pictures Nikki! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about hiking your "stuff" to the room. When we stayed at BWV I didn't want to have to "tip" someone to take our bags to the room so I made like 6 trips from the parking lot to the room. What a pain! Next time, I'll just cough up the $5. :sad2:

That hat IS so You! :rotfl2: You already look tan!

Of course they didn't. It's because we do all the legwork for the trip!

FROM OUR FAMILY TO YOURS

hi ILMICKEY as a christmas present to myself I am reading your trip report. Loving it so far, will probably love it the rest of the way through too. Nice pictures, I really liked the beach ones. The closest i got to the beach on my trip was when we flew over it, or on the finding nemo ride. both lovely substitutes.
Glad you got my postcard, I didn't get it mailed till my last day there, I carried it around in my bag the whole time so it was a little bent up, but all of the care was still in it. :)
Looking forward to reading more.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I really think they purposely put the rooms so far away from parking just so you HAVE to use the bellhops Well worth the money though! 5 bucks for 6 trips to the car?? Wow, you tip well!!

That hat IS so You! :rotfl2: You already look tan!
The tan was compliments of fake and bake, or at least thats what everyone calls it. I call it my little piece of heaven in the winter!!

He is still haunted to this day!

I like that bowling pin shot. :thumbsup2
Thanks!

I know. And they pick on me while I'm planning too. No respect I say, No respect!

You should have made hubby haul it like I did :rolleyes1
Well, I only had the 1 bag, he had the other 10 I packed. I guess I probably could have tied something around his neck to free up a hand to take mine!!

Tsk...Rookie :rotfl2:
No, I think my subconcious had high hopes!! I knew the number had a 3 on it. It just slipped my mind!

Oh ya...it's soooooo YOU ;)
I knew I should have bought it!

Thanks for the update Nikki!
You are very welcome! Now get to yours. You haven't posted in a month woman!

I thought the mailman got mad cause he didn't get to go and crumpled it up. No, not really. It wasn't in bad shape.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Thanks Ty. Hope yours was very nice!

Has anyone went to Disney during Jersey week? That is when I planned my next vacation, this was before I found out about it. I just want to know if it's really as bad as I hear.

Need some first hand experience here please??

I thought maybe I'd go the week after but that would leave Jay picking us up from the airport on opening day of hunting season. This is absolutely out of the question since he missed a week of it this year because I "dragged" him to Disney!!

Tell him he shouldn't be hunting anyway!!!!!!
Sorry, animal lover here  :rotfl:
Besides, ONE DAY is not going to be half as bad as a whole week! I'm sure he could find a couple of hours to spare to pick up his beautiful wife from the airport...unless of course, he would rather that you drive again....all by yourself...... Yes the guilt trip always works ;)

I don't think the guilt trip would work with this one. Opening day is like the single most important day of year don't you know?? I become a widow that time of the year.

We shoot them so there are less to hit with cars, we are doing the public a great service. That's my story.:rolleyes1

I thought about driving to the airport, but I plan on being heavily medicated to get on the plane. I'm pretty sure I couldn't handle my daughter driving me either.

Wanna come get me???

Ahh, so it's like when the new "Game of the Year" comes out. Lumar hooks up the headset to his XBox 360 and our conversations for the next 4-6 weeks are limited to 5 words or less, while he spends every waking moment playing online with his friends.

All, right. That's a good one, so I'll let you slide...:rotfl:

Sure we can make the drive together! I want to drive down there and everyone keeps telling me not to do it. But airfare is just so expensive, it hardly seems worth it anymore! :confused3

That is it EXACTLY!!! We live and breathe hunting for a few weeks before and the following 2 months!

I can't believe all the deer lying on the side of the road. Nobody picks them up around here. This isn't good when it warms up, gets pretty smelly.

Where are you from? I'm sure I probably read it somewhere, but I don't want to go back and research. Looks like we have about the same travel distance.

DH uses that line all the time. He claims he is saving the lives of our children. I was against hunting at first, but now I am cheering him on. :confused3

Can you imagine how many there would be if no one could hunt them? I think they are worse than rabbits as far as multiplying.

Oh, and the meat is much leaner. It's better for you! We must think about our health.
