:lmao:

Has anyone went to Disney during Jersey week? That is when I planned my next vacation, this was before I found out about it. I just want to know if it's really as bad as I hear.

Need some first hand experience here please??

I thought maybe I'd go the week after but that would leave Jay picking us up from the airport on opening day of hunting season. This is absolutely out of the question since he missed a week of it this year because I "dragged" him to Disney!!

What dates? I'll look up crowd conditions for those dates for you.

Bummer, guess I'm going to miss you by a week. Did you ever look up the crowd calendar??

I am hoping since people can't vote at Disney World, they will just stay home that week and vote for the new president!

I need a password from my "guide" to find out that far in advance and it's at home. I'll check tonight. ::yes::

It's one of the BEST times to go. Plus, you got F&W Festival! :thumbsup2

I have been away all this time and thought for sure there would be tons to catch up on. Sad there isn't, but glad i'm not behind. i can't wait to hear more, really!
Hope your New Year kicked butt!

The night before I scheduled a wake-up call from Mickey/Stitch. I had heard all the hype and since I am one for going along with peer pressure, I just had to do it.

We got the call at 6:30 on the dot. He might be an annoying little fellow, but he was definitely on time. This would be the first and last of the wakeup calls. Once was enough.

I shot up, showered, got Robby up, he showered, got the other 2 up and around. We were on our way at 8:00.

I was on a mission. I wanted to hear Mary Poppins sing "good morning, good morning". It's kind of a personal thing with the boys. When they wake up all cranky in the morning, I sing this to them to annoy them just a tad more. It's fun.

Anyhoo, it was my goal to subject them to it.

We drove to the Magic Kingdom. I didn't think I'd like the public transportation system much, I'm a bit of a control freak. Waiting isn't one of my strong suits and I hear there is a lot of waiting when it comes to Disney busses.

We got parked relatively close to the tunnel so I was pretty happy. The park wasn't full yet. A nice lady was standing at the tunnel exit to telling everyone who passed to have a Magical Day.

Thanks nice Tunnel lady, I think I will!

We got up to the monorail and no one was waiting for the front. I told the guys to follow me.

They were shocked and amazed that this was even an option, we had never done it before. Honestly before the boards, I didn't know either.

There was already a family in the one that was still parked there, but Woohoo, we were next!!!

That one pulled away and a few minutes later, ours pulled in. We were ushered in, I felt like royalty. You know, even the front of the monorail has that "smell".

We talked to our driver a bit. He said he loved his job, who wouldn't?? This has got to be one of the best jobs at Disney. Robby started talking to him about the College program, asking him if he could get a job driving a monorail. I was getting a mental picture of him doing this. VERY SCARY!!

This is very scary for all of you, not Robby.

This is our driver.

He was very friendly and you could tell he did enjoy his job.

I'm just going to throw our "up front monorail pictures" out here.

We arrived safely at our destination after a short wait. For some reason he felt it would be safer if we waited for the monorail that was at the TTC to leave before we pulled in:confused3 !

We thanked Mr. Monorail, he gave us our cards and we were on our way. Bag inspection. I must look really honest because they just kind of "glanced" in my purse.

We went through the turnstiles with no problem. I get kind of worried the first time we use new tickets. I bought them from a very reputable website, but you still never know.

There weren't very many people there so finding a spot for the show was pretty easy. There were a few people sitting on the concrete so we decided to stand in front of them. Perfect spot.

Just kidding. We stood to the left of them. I wasn't sitting though, so I hope no one behind us had that plan.

What a cute show. I so wanted to be the family of the day. I had a slight touch of jealousy, but that's alright. If someone had to be FOD, it might as well be them.

I love Mary Poppins and even cried, a little.

After the show we headed into the park. Wow, I didn't see all the people behind us come in. I now know how cattle feel.

We stopped at the Mainstreet bakery for some breakfast. I had a yummy egg crossiant. Pricey, but yummy. Our bellys were full, we were energized and ready to go.

We headed straight for Adventure Land. I could feel Mr. Jack Sparrow calling me. I was so excited to see the new Pirates. We walked straight on. I just love the "waterfall" at the beginning. So Disney Cool! I absolutely love this ride.

After that we hit Thunder Mountain. That was a walk on also. I am liking this getting my butt up early thing. Then onto Haunted Mansion. Again, walk on.

I guess I wasn't paying much attention in the past because I really don't know what they changed. I still love that ride too though.

Then came the first challenge of the day. Can anyone guess? If you said it's a small world, you were right.

Nobody wanted to ride it but me. They did though. Cause I played the guilt trip card. I only use it when absolutely necessary.

We cut through the castle area to go to Tomorrowland. We didn't get to ride the Carousel of Progress the last 2 times we were there so I was going to make sure we did this time.

I loved it, everyone else, not so much.

We then went to ride Stitch's Great Escape. We go in, find our seats, the bars come down. I am looking around trying to figure out what the heck kind of ride is this that it requires shoulder bars. The show/ride starts, thank you EVERYONE on the disboards for making newbies aware of the Coney Dog burp! My nose was plugged WELL before it happened. I really really don't get this ride. It was quite, well, stupid??

Remember this is just MY opinion. I am sure there are people out there that absolutely love this ride. I don't.

It was nearing noon after we got done with Stitch. It was pool time! We really had a pleasant morning. The crowds were really starting to pick up as it was the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend. We got out of there about 12:30, I was in the pool by 1:00.

More later!!

I'm proud of you. ::yes:: I hope that doesn't sound condescending.

We love the MK preshow too.

Small World!!??!! :scared:

Stitch's Great Escape used to Alien Encounter which was awesome. It's all about supporting the movies now and this attraction flat sux!

Great update! Maybe one day I will relax enough at WDW to take a pool break in the middle of the day. For now, we enjoy spending a full 13 hours at the park and going for a swim at night.

I sort of agree with you on Stitch. He is one of my favorite characters but they could have done a much better job with his attraction. However, it's not the WORST thing I've ever been on. I'd rather do Stitch 10 times in a row then ever ride the Teacups again!

Never made it the opening ceremony at any park. Every year we try, but it just never happens. We always get there like 5 minutes late. Although in all honesty, we really enjoy going for sit-down breakfasts in the mornings and we would much rather have a good breakfast than rush to rope drop with the rest of the cattle :rotfl2:

Speaking of cattle herding...you should have seen our first day in AK in October. It was RI-FRICKIN'-DICULOUS! I could not believe the number of people there. Talk about feeling like part of a herd. It felt more like an out of control mob. :scared:

Stictch's great escape was a huge disapointment to me too, I was expecting something huge, what kind of ride (if you can even call it a ride) straps you in with shoulder harnesses and then doesn't even move?

You have done 2 things on your trip so far that I did not do, so now I have to go back!

I forgot to get you those crowd capacity dates!

Sorry, will have to do that when I get home. I'm on the road right now.

I'm proud of you. ::yes:: I hope that doesn't sound condescending.
Thanks! Not at all.

We love the MK preshow too.
It was very cool. I can't believe I haven't got up early enough to go to it before!

Small World!!??!! :scared:
Yes, Small World. It's like going to a baseball game and not getting a beer and hotdog. Wouldn't be right. You just have to!! It is so annoying it just brings a smile to your face. Singing along with it helps too.

Stitch's Great Escape used to Alien Encounter which was awesome. It's all about supporting the movies now and this attraction flat sux!
I missed the Alien Encounter because the kids were too little then. Now they are too old for Stitch. Some things are just better left alone!! And yes it does!

I totally agree with you on Stitch, it is awful. Buzz was right, Alien Encounter was much much better.
Hopefully someday soon, Disney will figure this out and get rid of it.

It was so nice not doing the commando thing. We really felt we got a vacation this time. We weren't all drained when we left.

I sort of agree with you on Stitch. He is one of my favorite characters but they could have done a much better job with his attraction. However, it's not the WORST thing I've ever been on. I'd rather do Stitch 10 times in a row then ever ride the Teacups again!
If someone made me choose, I would have to pick stitch too. Spinny stuff isn't for me. I wouldn't like it though!!

We aren't big breakfast eaters so it worked out perfect. You have to try it once though. Do it on a morning when they had extra magic hours the night before.

Speaking of cattle herding...you should have seen our first day in AK in October. It was RI-FRICKIN'-DICULOUS! I could not believe the number of people there. Talk about feeling like part of a herd. It felt more like an out of control mob. :scared:
I don't understand this. This is the biggest of the parks, yet is always seems crowded!:confused3

Stictch's great escape was a huge disapointment to me too, I was expecting something huge, what kind of ride (if you can even call it a ride) straps you in with shoulder harnesses and then doesn't even move?
I know!! I totally didn't get it. What a waste of space. Think anybody does this twice??

You have done 2 things on your trip so far that I did not do, so now I have to go back!
What were they?? Do you have any plans to go back soon???

I forgot to get you those crowd capacity dates!
I know. I figured you must have forgotten. But then again, if you look at my ticker there is 9 months, 3 weeks and 2 days. So I'm not in a real big hurry.

I'm on the road right now.
Where are you off to this time??
