I woke up around 6:00 a.m. Since I fell asleep at 8:00. I had really tried to get Jay to go to sleep early as I new we'd get up early and "bother" him. But he didn't. He stayed up.
Who knows best???
So I quietly find my camera, shoes, wake up Robby and we head to the beach to watch the sunrise.
I was really surpised to feel how warm it was. It was so weird after leaving the cold in Michigan. But man it felt wonderful. I had expected it to be a little cooler though.
We walked out on the hotels little terrace area and walked down to the beach. The tide was way up.
I was a little bummed because it was pretty apparent I wasn't going to get my sunrise. It was still beautiful though. The waves were still pretty big and the birds were everywhere.
It was a wonderful morning. I hadn't bothered to even brush my hair to go out so it was kind of funny when this jogger ran by staring at me!
I took a couple pictures of Robby.
Oh I just love the beach. I wish we would have had a couple more days to spend there.
We went back to the room to start our first full rested day of our vacation.
I got showered and makeuped. Woke the rest of the crew up and cracked the whip. Which was how most of the trip went.
We lugged our ton of luggage down to the truck, checked out and we were on our way. It was about 8:30.
I was on a mission today. I wanted to get to the track. We stopped by Mickey D's for breakfast and encountered the line from you know where. We must have been in that line for half and hour. We were kind of stuck in there so we couldn't have left and tried somewhere else. I had totally forgotten it was Black Friday.
This is the one thing I totally missed on vacation. I LOVE Black Friday. But I had people doing some of my shopping for me, so it wasn't so bad. It's funny, I really hate crowds. But on this day, I don't know if it's because I am so tired from getting up at 3:00 a.m. or if it's the cold, but I can totally deal with them. I don't even mind walking the .57 of a mile in the parking lot to get to a store.
Anywhoo, after we get done with our breakfast we head to the track. We did have to walk the .57 mile here. That's alright, cause this is what I got to spend my day with.
Isn't that one of the purdiest things you've ever seen. Oh, I just love American Muscle!! I'm just going to show you the pics of all of them.
Nice huh?? I am totally in love with the 69 Camaro. Have you seen the prototype of the 2009 camaro? They went all retro like they did the Mustang. I can't wait until it comes out!
I also took a couple pictures of the lake. I always see it when we watch a race. We were there in 2003 for the race, but we were sitting so low in the stands we never got to see it.
We walked around for a few hours. 5000 cars were there that day and after a while they all started looking the same. Not that I minded, I just knew where our next destination was and I was getting a little anxious. We hit the little craft show on the way out. I also took a picture of the track.
I was kind of surprised there was very little banking. I've walked on Michigans track and wow, it was steep.
We hauled our butts back to the truck. Jay told me I was driving to Disney World. Not a problem, I've mastered this truck thing. I got in, backed up, put her in drive and gave her a little vroom vroom. He gave me this "look". I looked back at him with on of those grins and said "It's a hemi".
I guess I had a little too much car show that morning. I was feeling a little Froggy. He didn't say anything when we pulled out of the parking lot and I got on it.
Not one word!!
