We will need some sort of very dim light during the night.

Will the bathroom door stay ajar if we leave the bathroom light on during the night? Is the bathroom light really bright, so that it would let a bright stream of light into the sleeping area of the cabin?

Should we just bring an extension cord and put a dim night light on that or just plug it in the outlet behind the desk?

I keep a special night light in my suitcase just for traveling. It's a small button type light.....just about the size of a quarter. It gives off a gentle orange glow. It's hard to see when the lights are first turned off, but when your eyes adjust, it gives off a nice glow that isn't disturbing at all. We put it in the bathroom for night runs.......just don't forget to take it with you when you leave!:p

In the kids' room we left the bathroom door ajar (put a pair of shoes between the door and door jam.). In our room, we didn't want as much light, we left the closet door cracked. There was plenty of light, no problem.

Since I travelled this last time with my Mom (73) and son Michael (7), I used a little nightlight in the BR and had mini flashlights near their nightstands so they could turn them on when they needed to get up.

Also think about bringing a small fan and a small tray -
We had a very small fan with us that was wonderful to keep the air circulating. And we used the small flat tray to bring down drinks from the 24/7 station - beats trying to hold 3 hot beverages and juggle them while getting around!

Happy sailing!

I brought one of those tap/press plugless lights (they had them on an infomercial, but I found a set of six at a discount store) It is about 4 inches in diameter, and domed and you press it to turn on, and press it to turn off.

It gave off a nice glow but not too bright at all.

We sleep with the TV on:rolleyes: even at home with the volume turned down low. It gives off enough light to be able to move around with out fully waking me up. DH tends to wake up in the middle of the night and if the TV is already on the light or noise will not distrub me if he wants to catch Sportscenter while he's awake.:)

We used Glow Sticks. The kind you crack and shake and they glow. We put it on the floor in front of the bathroom door so DS could find his way to the bathroom. They give off enough light to see where you are going and they last all night.
