Any suggestions on where to stay the night before the cruise?

We always stay at the Hyatt at the ariport. It makes it easy for us because the morning of your cruise all you have to do is put your bags outside your door and someone picks them up and you don't have to see them til you get on the ship. Anyway that is what we like to do.

Have a great cruise,

Decide whether you want/need to stay near the airport or at the port. The Radisson at Cape Canaveral allows you to park free at the hotel and shuttles you to the port...also has breakfast. However, it starts at about $85 per night. There are several reasonable airport hotels--Hyatt, Renaissance, etc. You can get these very cheaply thur Priceline if that is a consideration. Most airport hotels have free shuttles back to the airport if you need to do that.

I guess where to stay depends on how you are travelling (car/air) and whether or not you are using Disney transfers.

Hmm, we haven't given that much thought. We will be flying into ORL, but beyond that, our plans lack firmness.

Hey Paul~
we're flying in Friday night from Providence and staying at the Hyatt for the convenience... our flight gets in around 8pm and I don't want to deal with driving at night to the Port. So we're taking the DCL bus on Saturday morning...

Where in Boston are you from??? we're southeast of Boston on the corner of Rhode Island.

We stayed at the Radisson at the Port. It was wonderful. We got up at 5am, drove over to the port, watched the magic dock. Very nice..quiet and peaceful, beautiful.

Then we headed to breakfast at Grill's..went back and checked out and headed to the port. What a great way to start a cruise!

Hi!

Good point -- we'll be getting in during the evening too -- and I likely won't relish a lenghty drive after that. Besides, I don't want to rent a car.

I work and go to school in downtown Boston, and live in Weymouth.

When are you going?

I liked the hotel down Cape Canaveral a ways - across from the Catholic Church. (Shirley, what is the name of it?????????)

Very clean, reasonable and since we drove to Port and terminal parking, it was great!

We're leaving 3 weeks from today.. with more snow on the way Monday, I can't wait for those warm temperatures. I made my reservations last December, but the time went by very quickly.

Well then -- bon voyage -- and tell us everything when you get back :-)

We always bid for an MCO area hotel via Priceline. We bid at the highest star level and usually end up with the Marriott for $25 to $28. They have a free shuttle, as do the other top-star hotels, and there are courtesy phones in the baggage area where you call them. We use Happy Limo to tak us to the port in the morning, but if you are using DCL transport, you could just take the shuttle back there.

Thanks for the advice and the link!

We also use Priceline to get a hotel near the airport. Worked out great for us and you can't beat the under $40 per night price!

We've done a variety of things: Priceline Marriott at the airport for $35 (includes taxes, etc). Very nice place and great for our late arrival. We've also rented a car, stayed at the Dolphin and had dinner at O'hanas. We loved getting our Disney fix before our 7 night cruise.

I just thought that I would throw this in because I don't think I saw it on any other post but we stay at the Holiday Inn Express right down the road from the port. It's nice, close and pretty inexpensive.

Is that the Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach? We have reservations there prior to our Feb cruise. Do they have a continental bfast each morning. Anything you can tell me about this property would be appreciated. Thanx!

Yes it is the Holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach. It's about 5 miles straight south of the port. Take a look here for location in refernce to the port and other things within the area.

The property is pretty new. It's a nice hotel. There is a small pool and ther is a continental breakfast. Nothing special but something to eat and a place to relax before heading out. Take a look here from more detail.

We will stay there again when we go in April.
