night b4 cruise

Can someone tell me the closest to port, cheapest yet clean, best motel/hotel to stay at the night b4 our cruise leaves out on Saturday. We sail 7/17/04...do you think we need reservations for the hotel or should we chance finding a vacancy???

I would recommend making a reservation. There are several ships sailing out of Port Canaveral, so there may be many passengers staying in the area the night before. You're also going during the height of summer, and it's likely that people will be vacationing in the area as well.
