Rachael 33 - Obsessive planner, Disney phreak, just plain obsessive about everything , trip report writer.
Nick 32 - Calm, mild mannered Disney phreak, leaves trip planning to Rachael. Hard working, needs this vacation
We make it through the night with no more incidents and get ready to leave. ItâÂÂs still raining cats and dogs but we donâÂÂt care because we are going to WDW.
At 6am sharp the car arrives. We had ordered a towncar, but a brand new stretch limo shows up. We are upgraded at no charge because they have to pick up someone from the airport who ordered a stretch. Being this is Southern California it is probably some celebrity, we have them coming out of our mouse ears here. Trip to the airport goes smooth, as well as the plane trip to Florida. The seats of the plane are 3 across and we have some tiny woman next to us who spends the last 45 min. of the flight putting on her make-up. She breaks out this kit with all sorts of bondo and make-up brushes and stuff I have NEVER seen before, and I have been a girl for the last 33 years and thought I knew all the make-up types. Personally I think she was very attractive and didnâÂÂt really need all that make-up anyway but to each her own. My idea of make up is lipstick and if itâÂÂs a really dressy occasion mascara.
We arrive at the airport and head toward baggage claim. If you have ever been to the Orlando Airport you know that you have to take this monorail thing from the terminal to the baggage claim. So the train thing is leaving and Nick leaps on not realizing IâÂÂm not that close behind him. You should have seen the look on his face when he realized the doors were closing and there was NO WAY I was going to make it in there with him. I take the next train and meet up with him. Interesting note Nick read the guy whom does the WDW monorail voice also does the voice on the thing at the airport.
The TTC driver was waiting for us and wisked us off to the Contemporary.
We were curious as to what kind or room we would get as I faxed a sort of funny request to the room controller. All we really asked for was a King sized bed in the North Garden Section.
I had also ordered drinks and snacks to be delivered from peapod.com and GOH badges from Jane at gifts of a lifetime.
We proceed to check-in and find that the GOH badges had arrived but not the peapod stuff. The cast member checking us in pulled up our reservation, read something and sort of laughed and then proceeded to check us in. she then tells us that we had a king sized bed in the North garden wing. I said oh good I guess the fax to the room controller worked. I told her that I had faxed the requests to the room controlled. Then she says let me show you something and she turns the computer screen so we can see and the room controller has written all over DO NOT MOVE DO NOT MOVE THESE PEOPLE FROM THIS ROOM. She said they usually donâÂÂt see things like that and the room controller must have really wanted us to have that room and wanted to be sure it didnâÂÂt get given away.
We proceed to our room which is on the 3rd floor our the North Garden section and we are SO HAPPY we have a view of the castle, monorail and the lake by the GF. We are so , so pleased with the room. It was room 7377. A few minuets the MK fireworks go off and we have a perfect view from our room.
We head to DTD for dinner at the RFC. It was just ok but the atmosphere was great as always. We head to the TTC to find our brick we bought last year but were looking for the wrong number and never found it so we head back to the hotel and bed.
Tomorrow is an early day with the AK being on the agenda.
