We're staying next week at The Nick, and would like to know how much the breakfast buffet costs. I was also wondering if the food was better. I know there was a lot of talk about the food being bad. Also, how was the shuttle to Universal? How long did it take to get to the park? Any info. would help!!! :earseek: :flower: :flower:

I can only answer your question about food quality. We were there the beginning of October and ate at the character breakfast. We had pancakes that were literally hard as a rock. I had read all the bad reviews about their food prior to our trip, but kept an open mind. Well the reviews were right on target, IMHO. Besides the hockey puck pancakes, the food was sub-par at best. The only thing I actually finished on my plate (or bowl) was the oatmeal.
Oh, and when we were there, there was no root beer at A & W. My DS loves root beer and was pretty disappointed, especially since A & W IS root beer!

Food at buffets was not good in July but food court was okay. They did have root beer at the A&W in July, can't understand why they wouldn't always have that. My advice is stick to food court and offsite for eating unless your kids want to do the character breakfast buffet (mine did) - food wasn't good but we filled up on bagels and juice so they could see Spongebob and Patrick!

We just got back and the food was yuck. I don't know if they are just trying to get by but I noticed a lot of the employees can hardly speak english. I ordered a cheeseburger with only onion and cheese and there was one person behind me and it took them two tries to get it right. They are probably getting off cheap by hiring people that can't speak english. I am noticing that a lot. It is very frustrating. I understand maids at hotels that don't speak english but when you have to have a conversation about how you want your food cooked it is ridiculous when they give you a blank stare.

When we were there in May, the regular breakfast buffet (not character) was $9.99 for each adult and kids were free. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Did not use the Universal shuttle, sorry.

we just got back and we ate ate the character breakfast 2 times... we thought the food was fine.. fresh omlets and waffles made to order were just as good as any breakfast buffet i have ever been to... there was a large selection of food.... i think it was about $17 pp but it was worth every penny to me to see my 4 year old ds with spongebob and patrick!!!!
