Nick HOtel Age limit on slides

No, the limit is height for the little ones. All the adults ride the slides just like all the kids. The little ones are restricted to the spray ground area slides so they don't get hurt.

Does anyone know what the height requirement is? I have three kids, all young, but all tall. I'm thinking the oldest would meet the requirements for the slides but the twins probably will not. Are there lots of wet areas for the little kids too or is it mostly geared towards the big kids? Also, if my oldest were to want to go with DH would that be allowed? Thanks!

From the Nick Hotel Website:
Must be 48 inches to ride the oasis slides - you may ride the slides between 40-48 inches at the OASIS with a lifejacket on.

awesome, thanks!! the twins are about 39" so maybe in a month's time? :confused3 We'll see. Has anyone seen a map or a listing of the slides anywhere?

I have seen the oasis slides and they are further off the ground than the lagoon ones. The lagoon side has the water tower you see in every ad for the Nick hotel and is much better than oasis. I think there is 6 slides there. I don't know of any listing but they are basic slides like all water parks have. The higher you go on the tower, the longer/taller the slide. And, BTW, they do check just about every time a little one gets on the tower. They don't even let them on, they will stop them at the first slide. Not that they don't miss one or two but once they are spotted, they are measured and sent off the tower. The lifeguards are very diligent about that. Hope that helps.

Fair enough. Last time they were at the DR's they were measuring at 39" so there is a chance that they will be 40" in April. If they're not, they're not, no big thing, but if they are, that will be neat and maybe they'll get to try some of the slides out. I do think though, that instead of measuring every time, it would be easier to measure once on the way in to the pool complex and hand out bracelets based on what you qualify for. I would think it could make things easier. I think we're going to have a blast. The kids have no clue we are going. The oldest pointed out the hotel every time we drove by it last trip to WDW and she was excited (without even seeing the water park!!) so I can't imagine the reaction when we pull in and tell them we're staying there, and again the reaction when they see the kids suite! This is going to be so much fun!!

You will love it. The first time we went I didn't tell the kids until 2 days before we left. They were so excited. I did a Nick themed treasure hunt. I sent the kids to my moms and left clues and goodies for the trip all around the house. The last thing was a suitcase for each of them. They still didn't get it. When they finally did, they couldn't believe it. We have been one other time since and if the prices did not go up so much, we would be going again in August. We LOVE it there, it just isn't financially feasible right now. Have a super time, I am so jealous.

That's adorable!! I hear you on not feasible. We're going to FL to visit my grandparents and go to the beaches- as close to a free vacation as it gets because this is the year of surgeries and replacing stuff in our house :sad2: Well......... then we thought maybe we'd come to Orlando/LBV on the way home from the GP's and spend a night or two. Maybe go to AK and use the vouchers we have for there from our last trip, which was disastrous. I saw the special with the $99/night for the Nick Hotel and said "Hmmmmm....." called and booked it for two nights, although not the two nights we originally wanted. I certainly wasn't going to pay the rack rate there! So now it has evolved into two nights at probably the Seralago (if I can track down a review) and that will be when we go to AK and then two nights at the Nick Hotel. The kids don't know about any of it- just the beach and the GP's. They're going to think we're on our way back to CT when in reality we're just going two hours to Orlando. I am not good at keeping secrets so this should be interesting. Hopefully I'll make it since it's only a month away!

Sounds like you have had a rough year. You need to get away and forget it all. Orlando is just the place. The kids will be SO excited. Ask for a room on the lagoon side, so you have the bigger/better pool area. We stayed on that side in bldgs 13 or 14 floor 4 or higher facing the Marriott World Center so we could watch the fireworks from Disney without even being in the park at night. It was great. The lagoon side also has the mini golf, bigger sprayground, shuffleboard, basketball. It is more of the hub of the place. The oasis pool is nice too it is just smaller and we didn't like the slides as much. You will have a GREAT time. It will be so nice to get away from this cold NE weather won't it! Enjoy!!

We always stayed facing the pool but I forget the building, when it was the holiday inn, we looked down into the shack where they sold ice cream, and all the crafts...where is the best to stay now, since my kids are 12 and 9
