Hi there!

I'm new to the forum but my husband and I have just booked our 4th trip to DLP in November, mainly to see the Christmas decorations! I'm after some advice about restaurants really. We've been to the California Grill twice and whilst it is our favourite we were looking to not spend quite so much money on this trip! We also went to Walts (albeit 4 years ago) but we were decidedly unimpressed. I'm vegetarian (no fish) so I'm quite limited with choice but my husband will eat anything.

So, we were thinking about the Manhattan for one night and Beaver Creek Tavern for the other? We'll be there from the 21st - 23rd November so hoping it won't be rammed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

:)

I'm not a foodie or a vegetarian, so I'm no help at all :rotfl: - but welcome to the forum :goodvibes

Yay another christmas trip :santa:

I've not eaten in any of the hotels except for Inventions, Manhattan seems to get good reviews. If possible on the Wednesday how about a visit to Walt's for a late lunch? It's such a shame this place is only accessible during park opening hours as it's our favourite x

We were thinking about giving Walts another try. It was mainly the service that we weren't impressed with so hopefully they'll have some new waiters by now!
I've just been looking at Cafe Mickey too, has anyone done this for a character breakfast? We don't have kids (yet!) so it's just the two of us. We went to a character breakfast at the polynesian resort in WDW and it was AMAZING! so will I be disappointed with Cafe Mickey? Is it basically just the hotel breakfast with a few added characters thrown in?!

I have to admit, breakfast at Cafe Mickey is my least favourite character meal - you do have hot options on the breakfast buffet menu, but to me, there just isnt the atmosphere over breakfast that you get at lunch or dinner (dinner especially is noisy but great fun).

Hi there, we went earlier in the year (a group of 14) so restaurants for us raised a few eyebrows, oui, quatorse, (pardon my french!) one of our party was a veggie and found that selections for veggies were limited, one restaurant that catered well for veggies was "restaurant les stars" in disney studios, regrettably for us we didnt discover it until our last day!

hope this helps

Hello I am also a vegetarian who also doesn't eat fish and I have always had fantastic meals in Walts. The risotto is delicious.

We have also enjoyed meals in Inventions, Beaver Creek - the polenta is great :)

We have also tried Annetes - good, but not an evening meal kind of place

Have also tried Agrabah which was nice but not so much choice for vegetarians.

One thing to be careful of in Disney is mislabeled buffet foods that often contain hidden meat or fish. I've noticed this a few times. I'm also allergic to fish, so...not good.

But really, give Walts another try :)

Also I'm interested to hear what California grill was like for a vegetarian, what kind of things did they have?

Kittina, thats really helpful, i too am a non fish eating veggie like small2006 with husband that will eat anything!
alot of people say( in the vast amounts i have read:surfweb:) that Agrabah is good for vegetarians?
I quite fancy Inventions, any good? :upsidedow

Glad I can help :)

I also heard Agrabah to be great for vegetarians but unfortunately i didn't find this to be the case :( the starters - yes, really nice hummus/veg/salad/breads/olives but the main courses were a lot of kebab meat, chicken shish, meatballs, lamb tagine - not very veg friendly! I believe there were a few dishes - spicy wedges, veg lasagne and bread but there wasn't much :(

Inventions - Always our last meal on the final day, leave on the best bit :D they have a great selection, there is so much there is something for anyone :)

oooh you've sold it to me Inventions & skip Agrabah! i've not even booked the holiday yet lol :rotfl::rotfl:

Perhaps give Walt's another go? We've always had lovely CMs in there so hopefully you were just unfortunate on that occasion. I also recommend the risotto - I chose it on our last trip and it was absolutely delicious.

I'd also recommend either lunch or dinner at Cafe Mickey over breakfast there - in the mornings I'd rather be in the parks and I think it's more fun there especially in the evening, although we did enjoy our lunch-time meal there.

I can't wait to give Inventions a go. Just hoping there's as much choice at lunch time as there is for dinner without the characters :goodvibes
