My cousin is moving to Augusta, Georgia and is looking for an apartment. Does anyone have any info on where she can find a nice apartment (not too expensive) that is in a good school district? Or where to stay away from? She has kids in elementary school. Any info is appreciated!

Wish I had some advice for you but I live in the Atlanta area. I've heard Augusta is nice. Maybe she could do some internet research on the area and the schools.

I have lived in Augusta, GA all my live about 35 years. I would say to go for the area in Columbia County for the schools. They have some nice apartments out near Mullins Crossing. There is a shopping area close by also.

Most states post test scores and even some demographics online these days. She may have to look at the local high schools, but those would still give her an idea for the area she wants to be in.

I live in just outside of Augusta. My advise would be to be in Columbia County if you are looking for the better school district, Grovetown/Evans area. I personally would stay away from the downtown area of Augusta.

When we moved here, I googled 'x county school district reviews'. I got a lot of hits that showed school demographics, zoning areas, parent reviews of the schools etc... The weird thing here is that your closest school distance-wise might not actually be the school you're zoned for. I made sure that I only looked at homes in the zoning area for the school we had picked. Good luck!
