I am looking for a hotel close to Gaylord Palms that I will have my parents stay at for a couple of days. (they live in another part of Florida but would like to hang out with them while we in the Disney area). I will be paying for them but unfortunately, I can't afford to have them stay with us at Gaylord with us because it is so expensive during this time of year (Christmas week). I would like to have some Ideas on some inexpensive hotels as close to Gaylord as possible.

Hmmmm...trying to remember. The closest one is the Nick Hotel but I am pretty sure you don't want them there. I would call the hotel and ask what else is right in that vacinity. I am sure there is something down on 192 but I can't remember anything hotel/motel wise since I wasn't really looking for that. I am sure the Gaylord would be happy to help if you explain the situation. Good luck!

There are also some pretty crappy hotels on 192 and International Drive South. I can personally attest that the Days Inn and the Travelodge are both pretty scummy. Did you try to plug in your dates at the DIS Home Page: http://www.wdwinfo.com/#dflt-dishome? You can also try over at Mousesavers: http://www.mousesavers.com/preferred.html . If things get too expensive you can also see if Pop Century is available for your dates. It is very close to the Gaylord Palms.
