Nice Beach with Driving direction

We'll be Orlando in Sept 22nd and 29th. I would like to take my kids to the beach in FL. What would be a nice beach to go to? We will be staying at POR.

We sometimes go to Daytona Beach for the day,
It's about an hour and a half away but worth the drive ON the beach.

Tampa/St Pete are about 90 mins west, Cocoa Beach is about an hour east. Both are pretty easy to get to.
If you are looking for a beautiful, calm, rolling waves type beach, then head west to the gulf.
If you want more wave action, then head east to the ocean.
