Hi. Are there any good deals on nice Hotels on either side. Which ones are nice, and have an indoor pool. We would prefer a suite or a super deal on two rooms, for we are bringing Dd's boyfriend. We can get the Ramada Suites Ontario side for $90.00 pluss tax.

We stayed at Best Western Cairn Croft in the summer for 89/night and liked it. Would probably be cheaper at this time of year. Indoor pool and if you get a courtyard room you have a small table outside your room and overlook the pool. Down the street is a restaurant (on the way to Lundy's lane) called the spaceship, or flying saucer (sorry, brain freeze) where breakfast is $1!, although you have to ask for it cause they put a sign out front but don't put it on the menu. But very good.
have fun

Try the Hampton Inn on Lundy Lane on the Canadian side. It's clean and quiet and has an indoor pool. It also offers free breakfast.

Hey Yay! This question is perfect for me.

I book hotel packages for VIPs all day long, it is my job.

So, I'll give you some pointers...

If you are going to Niagara Falls, the best deal is something close to the falls that is still a good lookin' room.

The Ramada Suites is very nice and is located near the Best Western Cairn Croft (which I deal with every day), which are both very nice hotels. If you have a car, this is ok 'cause it is about 2 miles from the falls. And, parking could be difficult.

If I was visiting, I would want something closer, what exact days are you going??? And, I'll check some rates for you.

Also, check out this website: http://www.wfol.com
It is our Festival of Lights, reminds me of the Osborne one at Disney!

We stayed at the embassy suites two years ago. Its a little more expensive:
145.00 CA ($111.54 US) for tonight, for example, but the view was unbeleivable!!!! The suites sleep 6.

Ok... I just did some looking and found some more information with rates for you. In Niagara Falls, the rates change from day to day depending when you are coming... but I'm familiar with the hotels and have kind of narrowed the down for you (based on location and general reputation). The best rates are on http://www.expedia.ca And, only stay on the CDN side... the American side is not as fun at all.

- Brock Plaza Hotel, this hotel is very old and the rooms are somewhat smaller than most of the newer hotels but it is in one of the BEST locations in Niagara, in my opinion. Marilyn Monroe stayed here when she visited Niagara.

- Days Inn Fallsview District, this one is also in a good location. Near the falls and the new Fallsview Casino. As for the room, it is a Days Inn, but don't mistake it for other Days Inns... there are about 5 ones in NF and this one is the best.

- Best Western Cairn Croft, very nice hotel, great indoor pool but like I said it is about 2 miles from the falls. It is on Expedia for about $90 CDN.

- Howard Johnson by the Falls, right in the midst of everything, also $90 CDN.

Also, I'm not sure which Ramada Suites you were talking about it. One is on Lundy's Lane and is very far from the falls. The other Ramada Suites Fallsview is very close to everything and if you can get it for $90, I would. It should be in the "Fallsview District"... otherwise I wouldn't book it.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes...

I wish this thread was started a month ago. Stayed at the Ramada suites on Lundy Lane for 1 night. Stayed at Comfort?/Quality Inn on Clifton Hill. What a zoo!!!
Would not stay at either of these hotels. Lundy is too far, but across the street from an outlet mall. Last minute changes made it hard for me to take the time to find a better hotel. I paid WAY too much for both hotels. They also charge an extra tax that is refundable at the border duty free shop. You must have receipts for accomodations and purchases over $50.00. Each receipt must be over 50. You do not get this tax back on touring attractions. The exchange rate is not very good either.

I agree, both Lundy's Lane and Clifton Hill are areas that I would stay away from... that's why I recommend making sure your hotel is in the "Fallsview District".

As for the last poster's comments, you do not get that refund at Duty Free or the Border unless you are AMERICAN, it is a tax refund... so, if you are Canadian, of course you are going to pay taxes.

And, it really gets me when people complain about our exchange rate. It is not 1990, our dollar has gone up and the US dollar has gone down. It is about 15-20% right now which is great for us who travel to the States. Most traveling Americans for some reason think that their dollar is all powerful wherever they go, and get ticked off if it isn't like 40-50%... get used to the change in times and the state of your country. I don't mean to sound mean or anything, but I deal with it every day at work... and that is just my two cents!

Hi again and thanks to everyone. Misslissa- are you a travel agent? My sister inlaw(also a dis member) is one. We have stayed at the Ramada Suites before and so far is where we are staying this time for we need that extra room/bed/pull out couch for DD's boyfriend.
I would rather stay on Clifton hill with pool side rooms and free breakfast but we can't afford that extra room.
Is there any other place with an extra room/nice/indoor pool/free breakfast/good price? Am I asking toooo much? :rotfl:

Hi there,

Let me know if I can be of any assistance at all. I work at a ritzy golf course in Niagara Falls and book rooms for our VIP guests all of the time... that's my job ;) So, I try to keep on top of the hotels.

If you can find exactly what you are looking for, that's great. I can also recommend the Days Inn Clifton Hill Casino, I used to work for the company that owns it. You should find out what their rates are like for the days that you are looking for, also if you are flexible with your days, their rates change very frequently. If you are booking this hotel, ask for the "new part"... you might also be interested in their "family suite". From what I remember it is quite spacious and inexpensive at times. Also, this hotel tends to charge about $20 for parking but they don't always tell you that when you book! Here's their website: http://www.niagarahospitalityinns.com/daysinn/di-clifton/

They are at the top of Clifton Hill, and their new part is fairly nice with a nice indoor pool from what I am told. Great location!

I would recommend the Best Western Fallsview. It is on the corner of Stanley and Fallsview, about 1 block from the Falls, across from Fallsview Casino, the IMAX, and the Skylon Tower. It is about a mile from Clifton Hills, so it is nearby, but quiet. We walked to the entertainment area of Lundy's Lane/Clifton Hills and down around the falls.

My apologies that I did not realize that the OP was indeed Canadian.

You presume too much.

MissLissa...that site is awesome, those lights look really nice..almost better than Osborne(if that's possible!??) Thanks for sharing it!

Only one dissappointment with the Festival of Lights this year!

Mickey ain't coming! The last few years they had a Disney Show for Opening Night which was awesome too!

I guess it's too Cold for Mickey!

We stayed at Radisson Suites (the one on Lundy Lane I believe) and had booked two nights. I was totally NOT impressed. We had a just learning to walk dd who would crawl a lot. The carpets were filthy and the couch in the itty bitty teeny room that made this a suite was also dirty with stains (that were very obvious ... should maybe have cleaned this???). So the next night we switched over to Embassy Suites, which was $50 more, but so worth it with the view!! Now at that time too, Doubletree Suites was brand new and their rates were only something like $75 a night !!! I wish I had known about it, because I would have booked there! (but dh booked the Ramada  ).

We are going back in the spring and will either go to Embassy again or try something else like Americana (?) ... the one with the big pool area (anyone been there?).

Usually hotels on Lundy's Lane aren't that great. I would recommend anything in the "Fallsview District" EXCEPT for The Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls (don't ask, just trust me).

Anyway, the Americana is nice. It is REALLY far away from the falls, but the pool IS great, indoor waterpark actually. BUT, you might not want to stay there if your kids are going to inquire about all of the strip clubs around... I think there is one next door and another across the street. :earseek:

Hi again. I just booked the Ramada Suites the other day. I thought that we would be paying $81.00pluss tax. I phoned and we got it for $75.00 pluss tax. Our two DDs love it there, and we have the oldest's boyfriend tagging along this time, so it gives him his own room.(sofa bed, tv, sink, fridge) with out us paying for an extra room. We are ready to SHOP TO YOU DROP.

Have fun!! Make sure you hit up Casino Niagara (get away from the kids for an hour or two :) i love it there.. we go up usually once every 2 months. Just keep in mind clifton hill on Friday & Saturday nights it will be crawling with intoxicated college age kids.
