A little early this wek but I just thought of it and at my age I gotta act fast or I forget things...

Well we have just gotten our DS pins for this week and I was looking at them and it got me thinking... I looked at these and then at the 101 pins and thought... These look a lot like them and I'm not a huge fan of those pins. So I was thinking of not going for the whole set just the ones I like. My question for this week is...

How many of you are going for the whole set and how many are going for just certain pins???

I didn't get the other whole DS set, and I am not interested in doing that now. However, I like the 100 Years of Dreams set, I've got the binder, and I will probably get the whole set. But, I'm going week by week to decide. Anyway, these pins do make good traders ( less expensive) for CM lanyards, if I don't want to keep them. Also, my home store in Bangor, Maine, is not crowded on pin release days, and I can get the pins stress-free ( no lines, no waiting, no pushing & shoving, etc), so I guess I will do it.
Anyone who runs short on a given week, let me know. I have extras or can get them.

I guess I am buying the whole set beacuse I bought the 100 Years of Dreams pin binder. Plus so far, so good at my local Disney Store - we (the guests!) are very well organized & make it fun & easy to buy the pins each week. However, I do agree that many of the pins look similar to other pins we have seen. I've noticed this with pins I've acquired while trading, too.

well I was going to get the whole set and decided there were just too many pins I really didnt care for so I have some as traders already.

We are collecting

Black and White Pins
Snow White and Seven drawfs train
Poster Pins
All Mickeys
And the occasional one that fit into my other sets...Mary Poppins, Oogie boogie, Haunted House etc.
Still alot of pins

Our store has been a completey organized one....its wonderful. The mgr worked out a system the second week and we havent had a bad word said about it yet. Congrats to our DS Mgr Melissa....way to go.

I am not collecting any of this set for myself. It's not that I don't like the pins. I think many of these pins are very nice, and most of this set is far nicer than the last DS set. It just happens that the pins don't fall into the types of pins that (currently) appeal to me.

However, my little DD is collecting the Pooh ( ), Princesses and Toy Story.

DH decided he liked the movie posters.

DS#1 is collecting all the Goofys . . . Oh, is there just one?

DS#2 is collecting all the Donalds . . . Oh, is there just one? Well, of course he wanted the Darkwing Duck so that makes two pins for him!

We didn't collect the last set because we were not yet fully engaged in this hobby. We, of course, after the fact, had the opportunity to go after the set . . . but it really didn't appeal to anyone in my family. I know each of my kids has a few particular pins from the first set that they liked. DH and I didn't want any.

I am only getting certain pins. The Poster Pins, the B & W Mickey pins and select others like Oogie Boogie and Trick or Treat. Still undecided if I will do the train. I have Snow White and Grumpy so I may see how difficult it is to get the others.

I too noticed that they do look alot like the Millenium series and was wondering, with all the different things in this series, if they were trying to suppliment that series? Some of them would look very good with the Millenium pins and would fill in a few "holes" in that series.

I'm going for the whole set.

Although I do not have Pins 1, 26, 27, 29 and 30! And will not be home for Weeks 6 and 7, so it may not be possible.

Just getting the pins I like, and a few others for trading. Some of them do seem to be rather dull, color-wise. I like lots of bright colors and sparkles!

I only bought what I liked of the Millennium series (about half). For this series, when the check list came out I marked about 45 pins that I thought I would like and when I saw the pictures it was still about 45 pins but 2 or 3 pins were different.

I do make my family go with me because I am collecting the whole set for someone else, at least the ones I can get. So far there have been several weeks with only 10 pins of a style. However dd and I buy 1 or two a week for ourselves.
DD-eeyore pins, some princesses,
Me-just ones that I like so some weeks it is none or just one for me. Next week we actually want 4 pins all together. The most yet!!!

I am doing exactly what Cindy said....check her post above...LOL :D

I'm not collecting the whole set either. I am getting the Snow White train (shocker) and just anything I like (which is not much, a few of the princesses). Just anything that appeals to me.;)

I am also only collecting a few from the series. Thank you Leslie. I like a total of 35.
I didn't collect all of the set from last year, but I was able to find them at the Outlet store in Orlando. I figure I will do the same next year if they are available. If not, I will be happy with the ones I like. Too many Pooh pins anyhow. Peggie

I'm only collecting certain ones and a few for traders. I'm a Mickey fan but I'm still NOT collecting all the Mickey pins. I need a new car more! :jester:

Since we're taking our kids to the 100 YoM celebration and it's our first trip as a family, we decided to collect TWO full sets, one for each kid (this has been a much bigger time commitment than we had anticipated and the stress is getting to me starting every Fri. night!). I like most of the pins (actually prefer the ones with LESS color), but I agree w/Peggie, WAY TOO MANY POOH!! 14% Pooh...what's up with that? No Bambi, A Bug's Life, Tron, I could go on with many that could have taken up some space if they had eliminated just half the POOH!!!

Well Nat,,,,,, That is how it started. Just like a true Disney pin trader I have gotten all of them even though I did not intend to. And I still may not, but rite now I will probley will buy them all. That's not counting doubles for trading. Kris;)
