I'm am just so excited over the Sabres playoff victories over Ottawa I had to come and post about it. Here's hoping for a sweep!

I haven't watched the NHL since our beloved Whalers left us to go down South. Now that I see the Hurricanes all over ESPN, it makes me sad I know it's not the same team, but nonetheless Peter Karmanos still owns them and it bugs me that he might finally get the Cup.

I remember going to a Whalers/Flyers game on Halloween in Hartford one year thinking it was the coolest thing with the Flyers orange/black uniforms. And their goalie - can't remember his name - he used to bang his stick on the ice constantly and drive us Whaler fans crazy. Ron something?

Sharks/Oilers went into 3 OTs!!

The Sharks looked really good on home ice, but really struggled in Edmonton. The Oilers out-played them last night.

I'm thinking that the Sharks will eventually get past the Oilers. Gotta win the next game!

OK -- just got home and (for the Buffalonians here) drove down Delaware Road. Right near Kenmore High School, in front of a home, there were 5 or 6 guys (high school age) wearing their Sabres jerseys, waving their banner (tied to a broom, of course) and just trying to get drivers to beep. Needless to say, we rolled down the windows and whooped it up w/them as we passed by. I thought it was so cute to see these young men so psyched and trying to get other people into it, too!!!!

My teenage daughter went last night. She had a ton of fun. She especially liked how the fans played the "Let's go Buffalo" on their car horns after the game.

I had to work but we kept getting updates throughout.

C'mon Sabres..............you need to score now! (where's that Broom smiley just in case?)

OK Sabres fans - tonight's the night - we let Ottawa have their little win - but tonight is our night - the whole thing will be in the bag for us - or so I hope anyway!

I was at a wine tasting last night and the game was on in the other room. We were hoping *not* to hear cheering and we didn't! Onto round 3.....

I can only imagine that the Sabres are on fire they knocked out the top seeded team, especially when so few commentators picked them to win, let alone in 5 games.
