Well, I have no skin in the game. My team is watching from home (Pens).

However, after the Bruins loss last night (buh bye, Licker! And yes I know he doesn't do it anymore, but he will always be known as the licker to me) I am hoping the same fate for the Rangers. Still bitter over last years Trouba hit to Crosby.

And DD has been rooting for the Devils since the Pens went out because she is a Jack Hughes fan.

Agree with everything you said! With Boston and Tampa out I’m happy, but would like to see the Rangers out also. If it wasn’t for Trouba I probably wouldn’t care much.

Most Rangers fans stayed at the arena until the third Devils goal. Then there was a mass exodus. Many prime seats up close for the remainder of the game.

I liked they guy wearing the Kansas City Scouts jersey behind the goal. He was there for game 5 too.

I see a lot of people saying this, but I barely notice it. I don’t know about the US feeds, but we get ads for betting websites constantly. Sometimes the screen will split and one half is the game action and the other half is an ad. So, so, so many people complain more about the ads than the in arena ads.

Oh, it bugs me that the ice no longer says Stanley Cup Playoffs, and instead has changing ads on the actual ice surface.

According to THIS write up by ESPN:

“The first time the NHL put advertisements on its boards was in 1981 with the Minnesota North Stars.”

I think the Flyers quickly copied the North Stars with the ads. I remember going to the Spectrum around 1982 and seeing them on the dashboards.

This is also when the Flyers were wearing long pants for a few seasons.

Was with a couple of Devil fan friends over the weekend. They both made sure to wear their Devils garb and thoroughly rubbed the series in my face. Good times.

Not looking too good today for them though… funny haven’t heard from either of them yet. lol
