NFL Playoffs

This article in our local paper puts things in perspective in regards to the playoffs.

When compared to the death of a son, football is nothing.

As a diehard cheesehead and stock holder, this news was devastating. I followed the story from the moment he went missing to the players tweeting when they received the news to coach McCarthy's press conference. We love our football, don't get me wrong, but family always always ALWAYS comes first. Packers fans across the nation, including myself, were in tears when news broke. It's impossible to describe the player-fan relationship in GB, but we ALL feel the pain. We win together, we lose together, we celebrate together, we mourn together. Sunday is just a game. It's nowhere near as important to me anymore.

That's exactly the way it should be. It was a horrible thing to have happened.

I remember when Tony Dungy's son commited suicide around USF a few years ago. Even though he wasn't the coach of the Bucs anymore, the area still cared very much.

Are y'all ready in the bay??? There is a strong Brees predicted for tomorrow! CAN.NOT.WAIT!!!!!!! Is it 3pm central time on Saturday, yet??? I will be sitting on the very edge of the couch. I hope it's a good, clean game. Praying for no injuries (I hate seeing anyone get injured, no matter what team they're on. Although, I admit, when Suh was having his tantrums early in the season, I was kind of hoping hed sprain an ankle or something minor).
And also Saints related.... my fellow Who Dats should like this..... Wait till NEXT YEAR!!!!! I know this year isn't over yet, but I'm already looking forward to next season. Why? Well, the Super Bowl is being held in New Orleans. How insanely awesome would it be for the Saints to win it all (again) in their home town?!?! We won't have to wait at the airport for our team to land! They'll be out and about with us that same night!!!

As for the Tigers..... WOW! I've heard two rumors about what happened with LSU. The first (and easiest to repeat) is that Lee was caught sleeping with Miles' wife and that's why he didn't get any playtime. The second (and truthfully...way more believable) is... something I will copy and paste from my friends Facebook. It's long, but the facts are well stated.

So... Some stories and rumors are starting to come out of Baton Rouge about why the LSU Tigers stunk it up on the fiend inside the SuperDome Monday night... I didn't write this nor do I know who did... Just seems interesting and the facts stated below are indeed that, fact. Apparently about 3 hours before the game T-Bob Hebert and Russell Shepard and 2 other receivers and a hand full of linemen got into a heated argument with Les Miles and the Offensive Coordinator about Lee getting more playing time and possibly starting the BCS Championship game. It got so heated that Miles benched T-Bob and RS and 3 other players. He called Lee into his office and told Lee that he would not be playing in the game. The Offensive CO told Miles that he thought that Lee gave the team the best chance to win the game. Miles told the OC to start looking for a new job after the game and Miles will be calling the plays for the championship game. Apparently the O Line sided with T-Bob and Lee and did not give their all in the game to prove to Miles that the players are more important then the coach. Now I know that this is hard to believe but when you look at some things it kind of explains a few things: I will list some:

Playcalling: Read option pass on 3rd and 10 - 4 times. Running the same 5 plays over 90% of the game. Overall, Horrible play calling. Running the ball in the 4th quarter with 9mins and down by 21. T-Bob Hebert not taking a snap in the game. RS only playing 3 snaps and not touching the ball or getting looked at. Lee getting off the bus and walking 10 feet behind the team with his head down and looking dejected while walking into the Dome. Heated argument between receivers and JJ and O Line with O line coach on sidelines. And the kicker, reports that 2/3 of the plays that were practiced up to the game were not ran and the players were not told why. Again I do not know if this is entirely true but there seems to be a lot of truth in it just by seeing what happened in the game

....wow, that's kinda HARSH, calling the 'Bama Roll tide a 'fiend'....popcorn:: [insert tongue in cheek HERE]

hahah nice catch! I didn't even notice that last night when I read it. Don't go making people mad now by picking on Bama!!!!
Nice story about that pitiful game. A Bama fan went into a Fleurty Girl store in the French Quarter and tried on a shirt in the dressing room. She dropped two or three tickets to the game and left without realizing. The owner of the store, Lauren, posted it on FB that whoever can identify the tickets can have them back. Not sure how they were distinguishable, but I guess they were. Almost an hour after the initial post, the girl found her way back to the store and was able to get her tickets. I'm so happy for her!!! If I had tickets to that game and I lost them, I'd have been BAWLING like a baby all over the city. It's so nice to have something NICE happen in our city. All we ever hear about is the 13th murder of the year last night. It gets old. There are some genuinely nice people here. Just wish there were more.

I remember that too...I was living in the area at the time. And even though Dungy was no longer the Bucs coach, he stayed very connected to the area.

Got a feeling that either Giants or Denver are going ti pull off upset. Both teams are riding highs and one will keep up the momentum.
So hope its the Giants.

Are you sure? :lmao:

Go 49ers!!!! Going to be tough no matter who they play next week. I think I'd rather the 49ers play the Giants because that one would be a home game. Green Bay would be on the road.
