Next trip I'm booking a resort w/out a pool! *Pg 25 Final DxDP numbers & last update!

:cool1: Yay for all of the vacations you have planned!! Sounds like a lot of fun!!:woohoo:

We are back from our adults only vacation. We had an unbelievable time. In fact, I couldn't imagine that we were going to have a good a time as we did. It was that fabulous. It was totally the opposite of one of our Disney vacations--we didn't have a single thing on our agenda for the week. I know right? It was so weird. We just did things as we felt like (or didn't feel like!) doing them.

It's taken me more than a week to adjust being back in the real world--no beautiful caribbean water steps from my front door, having to look at a clock, sticking to the kids schedules, not having food that looks so pretty I just want to stare at it all night instead of eating it, having to cook my own food for that matter, not having a tasty beverage in my hand the minute that I want one. :sad2:

Sounds like it was a terrible life we had that week in Jamaica wasn't it?

Just had to share a few photos with you...since this isn't Disney related, feel free to ignore!

The cost of gas in Jamaica--YIKES!

JamaicanVacation2011012.jpg

Our driver said it equals to be about $6.50 a gallon in US dollars. Think about THAT the next time you complain about the cost of gas!

A tasty beverage in my hand right by the ocean. Woot!

Hope you enjoyed my little mini TR inside of my Disney TR. We cannot wait to go back. In fact, it will be tough deciding--Disney or Jamaica for next year. Which means we may have to do both again. Darn! :rolleyes1

Another Disney update is soon to follow!!

Looks like you had a great time! Thank you for showing us your pictures.

WOW! Those are great pictures. Thanks for sharing! You mind if I asked where y'all stayed? My DH & I got married & honeymooned in Jamaica & would love to go back one day.

Wow, that looks like an amazing trip! I'd be interested to hear where you stayed too :)

I'm so glad you guys had a great time! It definitely looks like it would be hard to adjust back to real life after that!

I went to Jamaica twice when I was younger... and wow, it's just as beautiful (if not more beautiful!!) than i remember! My Dad just brought up yesterday how he wants to go back.... and these pictures just reminded me how much i love it there!! where did you stay?

Thanks for sharing the pictures - they are fabulous! I just love the one of the two of you jumping - looks like you are 10 feet off the ground :) My husband and I have taken two trips together without the kids - and I am thinking that we might need to figure out how to schedule another one!

Thanks everyone for the compliments on my photos.

We stayed at Couples Swept Away in Negril. It's an adults only, couples only all inclusive resort and it was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this resort and their employees. They have 3 other properties too--another in Negril and 2 in Ochos Rio. CSA was so beautiful, although all the pictures I've seen of their other resorts look wonderful too.

We will definitely be heading back as soon as we can...we're already thinking about a trip next summer! ;)

So, would you believe me if I told you that I seriously wrote an update 2 weeks ago, but something happened and I lost my update before I could get it posted?

Because that is really what happened. Cross my heart! Then I got pissed at the DIS so I decided to boycott it for a few days...which turned in to a couple of weeks. Opps. :rolleyes1

Perhaps I was a tad too relaxed after returning from Jamaica, because I have not done an Disney updates since before our trip. Shame on me! :guilty: I really need to get this finished...not because people are still reading (who knows if anyone is...) but because I hate to leave things unfinished. And I want to crunch my final numbers and see how we really made out on the DxDP.

I last left off on Saturday May 7th.

It was our last full day at Disney. We had spent a fabulous morning at Epcot and after riding Soarin', we were at a crossroads with what to do. I had a DISmeet planned at 3. DH thought I was a bit crazy for wanting to go to one and guess what he and the kids wanted to do????

.....

.....

wait for it....

.....

wait for it....

You guessed it...they STILL were not tired of the pool. I kid you not!

So DH says he'll take the kids back to AKL and the pool so I can still do my DISmeet. An afternoon all by myself in WS? I think I will, thank you very much! :thumbsup2

So we went our seperate ways and since I had some time until our DISmeet, I wanted to take some pictures of the flower and garden festival.

First stop was Bambie's Garden:

I loved the Cars display too:

Finally it was time to head to France, the place of our DISmeet. I found a bitty shaded spot to stand in off to the side, while I waited to see if anyone else would show up. Eyes peeled for a LGMH, I finally spotted a couple, but they weren't anyone I recognized. I didn't know if I was too crazy about approaching people I didn't even "recognize", so the DISmeet was beginning to look like a bust. Just as I was about to hightail it out of there, I spotted someone I did recognize...Joyce (Joyciemc) and her DH. I was certain it was them. I have to admit I did feel like a bit of a dork approaching her and asking if she was Joyce, but I'm so glad that I did! They both have such a great sense of humor and made me laugh a lot! I had so much fun chatting, talking about how our trips had been so far and what we still had left to do. While we were talking, more people joined us--some I recoginzed and some I didn't. Everyone was super nice. JLVermillion bought some of us OGMS. What a great way to beat the heat while we chatted! We hung out for about and hour before we all went our seperate ways. Would you believe that I didn't remember to take any pictures? Guess I was enjoying the company too much--;) Despite the lack of pictures to remember the meet, I was so glad to do it!

Afterwards, I was not ready to head back to the resort yet, and I wanted to take advantage of my alone time to do a little shopping. But before I could do that I realized that I was really thirsty after drinking an OGMS and standing in the direct sun for an hour! What better way to quench my thirst than a beer from the Rose and Crown Pub :drinking1 (I promise that I'm not this much of a lush at home--something just gets into me when I'm on vacation!)

I wandered around England and Canada enjoying my yummy beer.

I didn't buy anything, but had fun browsing. I hit one of the big shops on my way out of Epcot. Afterall, I couldn't stay all night in WS, we had dinner plans. I managed to find myself a Mickey mug, the Mickey decal for the back of my van, a key chain and some things for family back home.

I took some more flower and garden pictures on my way out of the park as well:

I only had to wait about 2 minutes for a bus and I was back at AKL with plenty of time to enjoy 30 minutes at the pool before we had to get ready for dinner. Now that is my idea of using the resort pool wisely. ;)

So, while this day still consisted of pool time for all of us, I was much happier since I didn't have to spend a zillion hours by the pool. And I really enjoyed my 30 minutes there all the more since I had stayed in the park in the heat of the afternoon--what a great way to cool down and relax. Note to self: next trip take more afternoons for myself, especially if DH and the kids are still pool crazy!

Up next: One of the dinners we were looking most forward to all week. Will it be a great way to end our trip??

Yayy you're back :yay:
I'm glad you just stayed at WS by yourself... that's the way to go! I feel like when you're by yourself or with just one other person you can get so much more accomplished!
The dismeet sounds like it was lots of fun! I'm glad you got to go!
And I have the Mickey Decal for the back of my car too! Good choice :thumbsup2

I just started reading you trip report.. I'm t-minus 89 days until my trip... I have to say you made my day when I read your crystal palace review I recently just got diagnosed with an extended list of food allergies and one of them if eggs and when I read that they have egg free waffles I had to immediately call my mom (whom I'm going with in Dec) and let her know cause we wanted to do a breakfast and were not sure how well that would play out with all my allergies so thanks! And so far it looks like your family had a great time!

That was the first time that I really did spend an afternoon by myself in all our trips. Why, oh why, did it take me 4 trips to try that out??? I can tell you that it won't take me that long to do that again! ;)

I'm so glad you found the info helpful. I have to say that at every single restaurant they were SO helpful with DS's egg allergy. It was such a relief! 89 days to go and a trip in December??? You are so lucky :yay:

Thanks! It's good to be back. I can't believe that people are still reading. I thought I had lost you all forever :rotfl:

My only regret about that afternoon was not wandering through more of the countries of WS. Definitely on my to-do list for next time.

Glad to see you're back!!! I know, it's so annoying when posts disappear.

Sounds like everyone was able to have a great afternoon! That was great that your DH offered to take the kids to the pool, so you had some more park time! And how fun that you went to a Dismeet! (Grand Marnier squishees are just the icing on the cake :thumbsup2)
