I usually post over on the CB, but my mom told me that I would find a thread like this here! I'm not going to disney, but I need flights for June because I'm visiting a friend in Philly.

To sum up all of this....I think we a very close to the schedule being extended. Using the information list above, I would say that SW will extend the schedule no later than February 10th. I say that because it has been extended on a Friday for the past 2 years and the current sale will end on the Thursday, February 9th.

Of course, we are already in that 112-135 day range in which they usually extend the schedule....so, we can't count out this week either.

Hope this helps.....that schedule extension should be coming very soon!

Great detective work, speedyf! I noticed on Tue on my Click'n Save email that it said "through the end of the schedule", and I actually got giddy! I will second your prediction of Feb 10th....but hey Southwest, we're ready when you are!!!!

Thanks for the research speedyf ...but i do believe rates were released on a thursday last year because i remember being off work (and at the time, i didn't work thursdays). I would put money on the next rates being released on Thursday......last year it was at 2pm (at least here in PA).....but, let's count on it and keep watching......

i watch that and the car rental rates, i check the rates 3-4 time a day sounds crazy but in 2004 i saved over 150 bucks due to the rates dropping. i want a good ding, wonder when they will send one out for dec

Hello to a fellow Illinoisan...betcha you're from the Chicago area though. We live down by Carbondale so we prefer to fly out of STL (a little over 2 hours drive), but I search airfares for BNA (Nashville is 3 1/2 hrs.), Indianapolis and Louisville since they are both a straight shot on interstate at just under 4 hrs...I also will check Airtrans out of Bloomington, but they never seem to have the best fare.

Our last trip to WDW was 12/18 to 12/25 and SWA posted the fares around August 12th...I know that I waited about a week to book and it was Aug. 19...got BNA to MCO for $111 each way, plus all the fees. Then about a week later there was a GREAT Ding fare for the same flight at $35 each way...unfortunately I couldn't get the 12/25 one, so waited and found a systemwide sale that got it for $84. I hope this gives you some help as to when you might start finding some fares on SWA.

TIP #2
When the current sale is "through the end of the schedule" rather than a specific date. Well....the current sale as of today is "through the end of the schedule" and the booking dates for this sale end at Midnight on February 9th. That is a Thursday night.


The FAQ also goes on to say that the schedule is usually extended on a Thursday morning at around 10am Central....but, the dates listed show that for the last 2 years....the schedule was extended on a Friday.

i agree and got an email notice of "final days" sale...till Feb. 9th--tomorrow . I will be at my computer waiting tomorrow and checking starting at 10am. (altho i think last year the rumor was 2pm (est) and it was like 10-15 minutes after that actually)......

I'm playing golf tomorrow (Thursday) till about 2:30. You can bet I'll be as soon as I get home! Come on SWA!

I'm also trying to get tix for Astros opening day. They go on sale Friday at 9 am. It's probably going to be a sell-out. I'd better be quick!
