Anywhere but DisneyWorld. Enough already!
The Caribbean would be nice.![]()
Nowhere. Stop this madness. If it gets any bigger, members will never get anything at 7 months out.
I don't think this would be a problem if the next one was built in a desirable place. The current problem exists because SSR was not the attraction that Disney thought it would be, and many owners do not have the connection to it that owners of places like Boardwalk and Beach Club have. That puts pressure on the 11 month booking window, as there are a lot of SSR people looking to trade into another resort. I think the opening of Bay Lake (which will be desirable based on location) will alleviate that, and the problem could be greatly alleviated with another DVC opening at either the Poly or Grand Floridian.
My biggest concern is crowds at the parks. I don't have any numbers to back this up, but I think that the growth of hotels is outpacing that of the parks. In terms of getting on rides, we had a much more enjoyable time at Universal in August than at Disney.
No, most members will want to try other resorts at 7 months, so it will just get harder to get the busier times. Lots of SSR owners love SSR and lots of non-SSR owners also love SSR.

Bay lake.............build a cruise ship "resort" on it.

I would also bet that, despite the resort being new and many people wanting to take their first visit to their home resort, the trade-out percentage is higher among SSR owners than any other resort.
How often do you see posts where someone says they booked their home resort at 11 months and want to switch to SSR at 7 months?
