If that's what Chase's ends up being I will cry. Q1 was a bust for me. I want grocery stores!

Chase Freedom's Q1 (Jan-Mar) was gas, so most likely will not be gas again. Grocery wd be nice. Or Warehouse Clubs or Amazon.

I have Discover and Freedom, hate it some years when both have groceries the same quarter. Won't happen this year as Discover had groceries Q1 this year.

And I didn't use my Discover once this quarter. The AMEX Gold 4x is worth more to me than the 5% CB from Discover or Chase. I would like Warehouse Clubs but we'll see tomorrow, unless they are going to let us activate blind on Friday.

I'm always learning about new ways to earn rewards points. After reading your post, I looked up the Amex Gold 4x. Does your's carry a $250 annual fee? or do they waive it under certain conditions? How do the points add up to earn enough to make it more of a value than a no annual fee card?
To be clear, I'm not challenging.... just genuinely curious bc if it works for you, it may be a good option for me as well.

I got mine in Sep of last year when they were still offering the first year free. With the annual fee you also get a $100 airline credit that you can use for gift cards on a couple airlines, or food and checked baggage. I used my credit last year to buy my wife and I Early Bird Check In on Southwest for our Anniversary trip. $10 a month dining credit to certain restaurants or Grubhub. I used my sign up bonus and first two months points earnings to pay the 68,000 points to fly my family of four to WDW this upcoming Nov. Works out to 2.3 cents per point so I'm essentially getting 9.2% back for every dollar spent on the Gold at grocery and Dining. Mine is also grandfathered in for this year at 2x points at gas stations. I used the Freedom for that this quarter and will use the Discover next, but my wife hates having to change cards so I pretty much just tell her if it's gas or food use the Gold, anything else use the Double Cash. We get about 6,000 points per month.

All very interesting. Thanks! I've learned so much on disboards over the years. Making smart use of cc rewards has helped fund many a WDW vacation! Earning money for spending money you would spend anyway!!!
