Next Food Network Star

We saw that season. We were a bit surprised that Guy won. He had the skills and charisma, but we just couldn't get past the gaudy jewelry he wore while cooking.

I never even noticed it.

Some people are visual, I'm very auditory. I cannot stand anything I can't bear listening to. Aarti's voice is like listening to nails on a chalkboard to me, sort of like the Neely's :scared1: I like Guy and based on how much they use him, so does the Food Network!

So who else has been watching Aarti Party? We love the show... we watch it every week there's a new episode.

We're excited to try out that chapati recipe... it just seems so incredibly easy that we cannot imagine doing that all the time!

I was not thrilled when she won, but I've watched every episode. I haven't made anything yet, but I have several things I'd like to try at some point. She made a pork loin back in December that looked so good and so easy... I just haven't had a reason to make it yet.

I haven't watched last week's epi yet, but it on the DVR. Her personality on her very first show after winning really won me over. I think I'd like to hang out with her!

She's getting a lot better over time. I remember the first few episodes of the first season had this really fake-y "friends are coming over for dinner tonight" vibe that bordered on the ridiculous. They finally discarded that, and have aimed her much more so toward being an Indian-inspired Rachel Ray (from 30 minute meals days), and everything has clicked since then.

I DVR her show and watch it every Sunday afternoon when I get in from church. I love it! I was a huge fan of hers the entire way through and she has not disappointed.

I've also made several of her dishes and they were all delicious.

I'm very tempted to pull together a Masala Dabba. I think, though, that you really need to cook a lot, in order to use some of those spices quick enough so that they don't lose their potency in the meantime. Of course, its the same with the spices I do use - they've been in the cupboard more than a few months, on average, and things like turmeric and paprika and coriander and fenugreek degrade very quickly. (The ground chilies and hot peppers last a good long while, as do the spices that are kept in their pods, such as unground cumin and cardamom.)
