Yeah, which is why I think so many of us were so positive for her in the beginning and now aren't so much in her corner. However, we shouldn't underestimate the value and contribution of a good producer. I suspect that many of the popular on-air personalities had their personae greatly enhanced by their first year or two of working with a professional television producer. I don't know if one could remediate Aria, but I think when we look at the remaining contestants from the perspective of the network (who's making the decision, in the end), and therefore as raw material to be shaped and crafted by producers (and marketing, for that matter), I think we come up with a different ranking than if we just look at how well we feel each personal is doing, on the surface, in the competition.
I wonder how this show is classified. If it is a "game show" like Survivor, then there are very strict rules that have to be complied with. However, if, instead, it is classified simply as a documentary of an audition process, then they have a lot more leeway to choose the best person for the job, rather than the person who perhaps performed the "stunts" best.
