Next Food Network Star

No favorites yet but Brianna's tidbit about herself made me dislike her immensely. Something like she is a diva or a princess or something. That kind of attitude doesn't sit well with me.

Just watching episode #2. I wanted Dzintra to go. Her voice is actually grating, she comes across as arrogant and tries to hard to prove that she can do high cuisine and it backfires. I think that if she had her own show, she would talk down to the viewer.

The guy with the beard, he reminds me of my soon to be exBIL. I can't watch him. It actually seems like he can cook. I wish his personality was different.

I feel like I should come back in a few weeks and then only people I like will be left on the show. :happytv:

Last year's winner was Melissa D'Arabien, who now has the show about feeding four people one meal for $10 - how'd she give you the heebs? Do you mean Aaron McCargo/"Big Daddy's House"? He's gotten a LOT better!

Yes, Melissa gave me the heebs... ugh. I like Big Daddy.

I wanted Dzintra to go also- she does seem very scatterbrained!! But glad that Doreen was let go- she was uncomfortable to watch- I never understood that saying until this show. LOL

No, she'd probably just talk to herself.

I think Doreen's gone because she lost her temper and yelled at the judges the last time they pushed her to come up with a theme.

I just want Dzintra to go. I may need to stop watching until someone PMs me and tells me she's been sent home!

I can't stand Dzintra, either. I was screaming at the TV for them to send her home. Sad night.

Hopefully next week she'll screw up (again) and finally get sent home.

I, too, wanted Dzintra to go home, but I think they kept her around because she is a little more interesting to watch than Doreen, who was completely boring. We have to remember that while this show is a competition, it is really entertainment. I think people will talk about Dzintra (even if it's a negative vibe) before they will talk about Doreen. Just my two cents, of course.

I thought the lemon chicken looked like the tastiest item of the night. I'd like the recipe.

I got the impression (and it would be consistent with previous seasons) that Dzintra was safe because her team won.

Yeah, we were very disappointed when Melissa won last year. Her show is unwatchable. I'm not a big fan of Big Daddy either, but he's sort of local to me, so I do feel like I need to support him somewhat. :rotfl:

Does anyone else think that Aria slightly resembles a younger (Clueless era) Brittany Murphy?

Now that I think about it she kinda does.

I was so happy that Doreen went home. She was so uncomfortable to watch and her facial expressions always made her look like she was either very angry or about to cry. Serena again got on my nerves, I hated how at the end they focused on her crying and upset that Doreen was going home. I hope Dzintra and Brianna go home soon, both seem very impersonal and full of themselves.

Aarti is becoming my favorite, but she really needs to work on her confidence.

The first week, yes - but last night (second week) there were no teams. It was the carnival food challenge, and Dzintra can't seem to plate and talk at the same time. A show she hosted would either be twice as long as most FN shows - thirty minutes of cooking, thirty minutes of talking/explaining; or it'd only have half as much cooking as the other shows while she stops and has conversations with herself about the food :rotfl:

"Think Dzintra, think!" She needs to go home....soon.

I was also very glad Doreen went home - she made the weirdest facial expressions - I couldn't even watch her sometimes.

I like Aarti and Das the best so far. :)

Bob Tuschman drives me nuts.

I found him so annoying last season that I haven't even watched this season yet. :(

Bob Tuschman drives me nuts.
BTW, he's no longer Senior VP of programming.

He's now the General Manager of Food Network.

I think he's a great guy.

He just always seems so full of himself, even more than Tom Colicchio (which is hard to do). DW and I simply call him, "The Tush." :rotfl:
