Next DVC resort?

I am a fan of tower resorts, I don't think I'd consider LSL just because of how large the resort is but also lack of transportation options. If I'm going to do a resort that has only boat/bus access, I would end up buying resale at CCV. PVB I would be buying for access to the tower.
This is fair. The renderings shared earlier today (https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...eflections-site-in-2027.3957946/post-66336513) really show how sprawling LSL is!

I agree. LSL is a MK area resort, but it's not connected like the monorail resorts. I can't say I would never try it, but if I want to book a resort so I can get back to my room fast after park close or a hard ticketed event I want a monorail resort.

If WDW builds a resort attached to MK I will eat my words and probably want that for the late nights 🤣

The only thing that would sway me from CCV to LSL IF I were purchasing a boat access MK resort would be if that lazy river is like Aulani level good or better. Well definitely try it and it'll honestly probably be really nice to have a large resort with decent MK access for all of us direct owners but time will tell how the resort turns out

How about an extra bathroom in the 1/2 bedrooms like AKL-K, BLT, PVB & VDH, VGC?

How about sleeping surfaces for 5 in both studios and 1 bedrooms?

Agreed. Both Disneyland DVCs have the bonus 1/2 bathroom in 1+ bedrooms and I’ve become spoiled. Synchronized pooping makes for time efficiency for couples.
On this note I can't for the life of me figure out why the older Poly studios have a bath and a shower, but only one toilet. I really think the 2 toilets helps a family out more.

Yes, very silly. VGF and RIV have the same deluxe studio setup.

What honestly boggles my mind even more is the one-bedroom at VGF and RIV. They have a freestanding tub in one room and a single stall shower right next to the toilet in another room. You actually have less usable bathroom space in a one-bedroom than a studio. 🤣

Yeahhh I couldn't believe that the 1BR has less usable bathroom space than the studio. It was really nice having access to the 2 showers in the studio. None of us use the bathtub, maybe my kids will when they're little but after the first couple years that's it.

Hrmm that's fair but then given the size of LSL I'll likely be able to 7 month my way into the resort

Yes! Same here. Even if you did need the tub you're still short a shower AND a shower that can be used while someone is using the toilet :rotfl:

I think perhaps a 3rd DVC in Anaheim as part of Disneyland Forward
Is VDH selling that well? I am assuming we’ll get a 3rd DVC at DLR, but I don’t think Disney is in any rush, especially as the pull one of the few on site perks…
If ANY of the Crescent Lake resorts get a DVC with 50 years on the purchase I will buy it regardless of the trust, resale restrictions, dues, room breakdown, etc as long as I can walk (or scoot as I age 50 years) to two parks :rotfl:

I would even take a resort across Epcot Resorts Blvd like Swan Reserve
I was with you 100% until you said across EpcotResorts Blvd…if I’m paying 2030 direct pricing and point charts (😵‍💫) I want to be on the lake. Otherwise, I’ll just camp out at the Swolphin.
My guess is a second Riviera tower. The last few months Riviera’s pace slowed to the point that recent pace does not seem sufficient to sell it out before 2027. No reason to rush if the next build is also Riviera.
Makes sense to try to sell a few million more RIV2 points BEFORE offering a new Crescent Lake DVC (I think fewer people would be buying RIV direct or resale if they could by resale BC or YC that don’t expire until 2065+). Plus if they start a small BC/BW/YC flip association in 2035, they can add in millions more points with only 43 years remaining down the road, but still sell it at top dollar to people like me.

I am all for them converting some YC to DVC and as a BCV owner I would definitely add on points there. But if they added a tower to either BC or YC they would absolutely kill Stormalong Bay. It's almost too crowded with the rooms they have now, I cannot imagine if they added a whole new tower of guests.
I hadn’t considered this, but you’re right and now I’m worried. We’ve been avoiding Poly and GF (where we own) since the tower opened because the infrastructure was already pretty stretched…the last thing SAB or even the BC lobby needs is 30% increase in guests. I suspect even a flip of YC would make the situation a bit worse because you’d have more families who hang around the resort during the day instead of conventioneers and people focused on maximizing time in park.
PVB I would be buying for access to the tower.
I really think the tower will get easier and easier to trade into as the new tower smell wears off.
The location and views from the longhouses appear to be nicer (especially if you like EPCOT) to say nothing of the extra bed in the studios…I suppose it may stay harder to get the larger villas?

Definitely is coming, but not next.

I would guess Yacht Club (or BCV tower) or a new resort utilizing the RIV skyliner stop.

I would absolutely love YC, but I highly doubt it will happen as long as the convention center is used. I could honestly see Beach Club cash being converted when the rooms reach the end of their life.

IMO BCV would not be an option to expand since its expiring in 2042 - unless they extend the land lease and all the current contracts - but how likely is that to happen 🫣 - if it did, WOW - just WOW.

Dont know if Yacht Club realistically would be an option either - Maybe as we approach 2042 to takeover from BCV it could be. Lets say DVC Yacht Club sales start in late 2040, and first checkin around January 2042 then people have ample of time to decide if they want to own at the resort to keep their access to SAB. Then come the expiration of BCV and all the others 2042 resorts. Disney starts a refurb of some or few of them. What used to be Beach club will then become an extension to YC DVC instead.

My $0.02... In the Boardwalk area, you've got BCV and BWV both approaching their 2042 end dates, which will generate a tremendous number of rooms for DVC to redevelop and flip. If DVC is going to build something new there, it's going to be an expansion of RIV by taking more or all of CBR. In the MK area, LSL is going to be on sale until the early/mid 2030's. It's now 30 years remaining for BLT, so I doubt we'll see the second tower in the garden wing as part of the same association. While DVC has done the BRV/CCV split at one "resort", I doubt they'll do that again. I discount the possibility of a resort being built with its own entrance to MK as unfeasible, given the large amount of backstage area that would have to be relocated. While we've often heard that the land between the Contemporary and TTC is unsuitable for multi-story development, I'm sure there are likely Disney employees who are actively engaged in thinking about what could be built. Thinking beyond the box, the area could become resort bungalows (on and off water) or they could put in structural piles to build a single tower.

With all the construction work they have done at YC area this year, I think it's a clear sign they will not be expanding DVC there in the near future.

For example, VGF BPK flip. After it's sold out, they announced the work on the VGF lobby area. Doesn't this mean the lobby work costs are shared by Disney and VGF owners?

assuming they would flip YC to DVC they couldn’t do so and then shortly after begin refurb work at YC on the new owners dime.

Correct way would be to do it beforehand and then flip it.

I know others have echo'd this as well, but I'll also add that putting the bunk beds inside the parent room is ridiculous. They should have been in the living room next to the pulldown bed.

And I'll add one more gripe about the Cabins. There's so much opportunity for other tiny-home styles. Disney didn't even put any new concrete pads down. Super unimaginative.

I would have added at least some other cabin types, maybe like these?

Did they do something illegal with BPK flip followed by the VGF lobby?

Which lobby work do you mean? There was some refurbishment of the VGF lobby (DVC building). I would assume this was paid for by DVC members. The lobby of the main building? That's not owned by DVC in any way. There might be some costs reaching DVC through the fees for shared facilities but I can't imagine this is a lot. What might have been illegal about this?
