Newsweek Palin Cover

I'm waiting for Newsweek to use this on the cover:

Awww, that is just sooooo awful. Durnit all. I weep for her, fersure. :rotfl:

How ridiculous. My God, they didn't airbrush her pores!!! How unfair! :lmao:

Well, I guess they can't all be glamour shots:confused3 Looks like she got enough airbrushing in this one;)

I thought Palin was trying to appeal to Joe Sixpack and the hockeymoms? I would think showing up on a magazine cover all airbrushed would definitely NOT be the way to do that. I applaud the unphotoshopped photo. I hope Palin does too. This ain;t a beauty contest.

This is a perfect example of why McCain will lose this election. His supporters waste more time arguing and worrying about meaningless nonsense like this, they're driving all the undecided's directly over to Obama.

The best thing McCain could do is beg all of his "people" to please shut up.

I think that the Fox commentator and that Andrea chick have done a huge disservice to Gov Palin, and women everywhere, by suggesting that she/we aren't "good enough" the way we are, and must have our flaws airbrushed away. Sarah Palin is a lovely woman. Americans seeing a blemish or two won't change that. Making an issue of this is ridiculous, juvenile and demeaning to women everywhere. I would say Fox News is being sexist.

I agree.:sad2:

I am NOT a Palin supporter but I think the cover is beautiful. I am tired of looking at airbrushed perfection of every woman featured in print.

And why aren't the critics demanding that McCain, Obama, and Biden get airbrushed of all of their imperfections? Such a double standard.

:sad2:

It's really come down to complaining about "unwanted hairs and wrinkles"????

Okay...somebody PLEASE tell me what could be next.

I would be more likely to agree if there hadn't been so much similar faux outrage over the New Yorker cover earlier this year.

I thought that cover was more of a bad comment of against the folks who believe Obama a terrorist, rather than a bad comment against Obama. Did I get the conscept wrong?

BTW have you seen the parody of that cover?:worship:

You missed the point. It's not the picture itself. It's the fact that Newsweek treated their cover of Obama differently. Let's see unretouched close ups of them all. That would be fair (and balanced).

Absolutely, it was satire. But that didn't stop the wailing and moaning from the Obamaniacs about how disgusting it was.

Will never happen.

Yep. The outrage was over the cover and not many cared to read the article which explains the cover.

I get my Newsweek every Monday. Obama has been on the cover many times, as has McCain. I believe this is Palin's second cover. I have never noticed anything out of the ordinary, and as a 41 year old woman, I am certainly not unaware of the art of Photoshop. She looks great. She looks real. My copy is in my car at the moment, but there is nothing unflattering about it. I don't recall what Obama's photos were like because I recycle the magazines when I am done with them. I am always far more concerned with the story inside than the cover anyway. And for what it is worth, Karl Rove contributes the counter point to the cover story.

ETA - this actually looks like her second "solo" cover. She was on with McCain when he first announced her as his VP pick.
