I thought that was the case all along. You can only buy 24 points, but if you buy 12 one time, you can buy 12 more another time.
No, that's what is new. Previously, you were only allowed to purchase them once, now it's as many times as you want to getup to a total of 24.

According to this interesting article, Disney just purchased a big chunk of land right in front of the Disneyland resort, behind the Carousel Inn and Suites, which they purchased earlier this year. The third gate rumors have been denied by Disney itself, so there isn't any reason to think they've changed their mind just yet. Apparently their intention is to build a new parking structure where Pumbaa parking lot currently is, and use the recently purchased for office and warehouse purposes. According to the article, Disney might be planning to move backstage areas somewhere else to free up some really needed space from the back of the park, and eventually build Star Wars land over in that area.

Well at least the crane isn't onsite yet. The crane is backstage at the MK currently.
I'm only going to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios while I am there... is it even worth it to get memory maker if I'm going to have this beautiful view of tarps galore in the backround of the castle photo?

3 months seems like a long time for an "off the shelf" ride like that. I'm wondering if it will get a new paint scheme.
Also according to Steve (owner of wdwmagic) he doesn't have seemed to confirm if they are doing one side at a time or not so it could be 1.5 months per side.

If you buy memory maker in advance and get it cheaper I say yes. I love getting the ride photos.

Interesting, but not completely accurate. Part of what they highlight in yellow as "toontown" is actually the "It's a Small world" show building. (I circled it in Red.) Though the building immediately behind Toontown is just storage/offices, the set of buildings behind THAT would be quite difficult to move, as they include the vehicle maintenance barn (green) , animatronic maintainence, as well as the place where they shoot off the fireworks.(RED) and also Team Disney Anahiem main executive offices. To the West is the Tri Circle D ranch and livestock area - which while I suppose you could move it, needs to be right near the park.

So Star Wars land could likely at most incompass the orange and pick areas above, which would be less than twice the space of the existing toontown, as well as the issues of how do you close down your most popular new attraction during the fireworks show, and also how do you handle the fact that Star Tours is at the front of the park?

Primeval Whirl closing for 3 month refurbishment.

Gonna be closed while we're there. Was thinking we might actually get around to riding it this trip. Never mind then.

It's mere conjecture right now, but I agree that it does seem tricky to move some of those buildings and have SWL in an area that gets closed for fireworks all the time. I think there's some space to expand above RoA/BTMRR, and the Fantasyland theater is in there too. SW in Tomorrowland is also a good possibility, but I think they'd have to demolish either Innoventions or Autopia to make it work.

Yeah - I know earlier talk was to convert Tomorrowland to mostly Star Wars. Take out Autotopia/Subs/Innoventions. This wasn't the latest talk though - which has centered around toontown. The former DOES seem more practical.

Innoventions is currently closed and permits for it say marvel and Star Wars

Early to late September last year for holiday lights. Again in January and February to make them gone.
