Come on @skier_pete, this is the same Imagineering that spent 1 million dollars on adding speakers, flags, and beach balls to a small attraction. These guys can be inefficient, and sometimes even misguided. They make mistakes, and even can build out crappy products. If you think Imagineers don't share some of the blame for that mess than you're living in an alternate reality.

I just wish we had some more Tony Baxters in there.

Honestly I wouldn't rule it out. I'm going in a month and the consensus in my family is there is almost nothing to do. Probably going to spend two half days there (max) just to do the 4 or 5 attractions left there were care for

I think if it wasn't for frozen summer fun last year there would've been a drop events like that and Star Wars weekends are what is holding that park together.

I can't wait for the Edison!!!!!! The only question I have is "How close to the Garden Festival will it open?" The definition of Spring can be pretty loose. I seriously hope they will have it open by the start of the festival. Be still my Steampunk heart!

Check out the Edison in LA - in particular, it's menu . Sandy and I did this.... sadly, it appears (in LA) to pretty much be a sandwich shop . We really hope that the DTD location ups the game a bit..... but for now? Kinda looks like a looser .

Unless they simply are not happy with what they've got I really can't think of a reason for them to announce a DL Star Wars land and not a WDW one, especially considering that WDW's was supposed to come first. It's clear that DHS is going through a big overhaul. On the other hand, nothing evident is going on at DL or DCA nor is expected to in the foreseeable future (They wouldn't mess with Toontown or whatever they plan to replace during the 60th anniversary of the park).

Now, we don't know for sure whether this Pixar expansion is real or not, but assuming that something important is brewing at Pixar Place, I think it would make sense for them to announce that first and then wait for the 50th to come closer and make the big announcement. Especially if the board is not happy with the addition that is going to sustain DHS numbers for at least a decade.

I don't think that will make as big a dent in that area as it did in Orlando. It will surely help but it's exact clone of Orlando except for 3D which will surely come to Orlando eventually.

I can see that, but WWoHP won't have as much impact in California as it had in Orlando. It will increase their park attendance for sure, but I don't think it will have a significant effect on DL. Unlike USO, Studios Hollywood is a one day experience that most vacationers and locals will make part of their schedule anyways.

It's still a factor Disney probably considered though.

Besides that, you don't even have the ability to put in a special penny and you can't even watch the pressing process. You might just as well by your souvenir pressed Penny at any gift shop. I'm betting they probably aren't even made from real pennies, probably just cheap pot metal with a shiny coating on it!

This is disappointing I always collected these as a child and still have my book full of them. I loved cranking the handle and watching it get made.

Just got out of Jurassic World. All I can say right now is best movie of the year yet. A fantastic sequel on the first movie. If Universal does not capatilize on using this new film in their parks they are silly. They should be green lighting something as we speak.

I'm not sure if this has been posted already, but here's the most recent and detailed drone video of Shanghai Disneyland we've got so far. It looks like a massive park, but one of the reasons is that the attractions are pretty spread out. It also looks like most of the structural work is done, so from this point forward we should expect to see a lot more of landscaping and such.

I don't think I'll ever be able to visit this park, but I'm still quite excited about it. It's probably because of the big number of brand new/redesigned attractions and the lack of clones.

I believe it was posted a few pages back but this park is designed like no disney park before it. Thats the whole point tho because mainland China does not identify with what a traditional disney park is like. Thats why this park isn't supposed to have that many walt references unfortunately. Seems to coincide with SOMETHING at D23 given that's a month after it takes place. Whether its Pixar or something else will be interesting to see

I hope it happens like you say. It would be especially great if they announce stuff at D23, and then we will be at WDW 8/28 and can ride/see some things for the last time if they announce what they are going to close.
