It really grinds my gears that Disney would put this much effort into a travel industry event, and then produce such a mediocre blahfest for the WDW 24-hour. Sure, IPW paid, but at the end of the day, who's responsible for the satisfaction of the millions of Guests that convention claims to bring in?

Think of the IPW as a "Customized item" and the 24-hour event as a "off-the-shelf-product".

IPW is paying a lot more money and probably had input as to what was offered. Meanwhile, the 24hr event (and the parties) are "pre-packaged" items with a shiny sticker on it that guests are more than willing to fork over money to get.

This topic deserves its own thread.
I'll second this. @Reddog1134 you can do the honors if you'd like. Lol

I've got to say for the first time I actually believe there could be a very credible story here. Spirit has basically been crying wolf with nothing to show for months. I had lost my patience with him. However, when I read his post over there you can count me as concerned about the project.

And looking at it this makes a lot of sense too based on the events that have happened.

This is such an odd situation. What's going to happen if foreigners try to visit? Will they be barred from entry for potentially confusing the Chinese guests with their American Disney Propaganda®?

This whole thing looks pretty bizarre to me, like the kind of paranoid situation you might see before things started to open up in China circa 1980 (4 years after Mao's death).

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that there has been a fair bit of anti-American war hysteria being manufactured in China over the South China Sea dispute. It would be hurting that message to also present the idea that out of America could come the "happiest place on earth".

You know what they always say ... "In war, Mickey Mouse is the first casualty." If I recall correctly.

The unnamed Disney exec says it has to do with scheduling? I call BS. I think after Tomorrowland's poor box office totals, they're getting a little trigger shy. I know alot of us were looking forward to another Tron film. I'm also disappointed that Tomorrowland can't break $65 Mil, but Pitch Perfect 2 rakes in $130 Mil? Come on....
so .... Tomorrowland! The Musical! ??

There was a thread about the event over at Theme Parks but it was locked without any explanation. Seemed like a wonderfully planned event.
