It's expected LMA will close as well because that is in that area. If construction started at the beginning of the year I could see something being open in 2017 because I'm sure there will be C and D probably even B ticket attractions part of this. DHS is in need of a lot more family type rides. With new fantasyland the storybook circus area was the first to open then belle, and LM, then finally the mine train.

Not sure on this, but wasn't there a recent posting or maybe an article, that Little Mermaid was closing for a "rehab" in the not too distant future?

Yes the fantasyland LM is closing for a rehab to most likely get the updates that DCA got which really improved the ride.

I have to laugh when the words "gourmet" and "creative" are used to describe "the people who brought you rainforest cafe, Trex, and yak and yeti" I'm also wondering about the price point for morimoto... I would think it would have to be "toned down" from the city offerings... And then of course the standard Disney inflation is applied ;)
I agree I am interested to see what the boathouse and hangar are like tho I think the theming could be great. Not so interested in morimoto.

Re: Disney Springs announcing two new restaurants. SO excited that there will be more restaurants at DTD, now if they would only put in more shopping!

Seriously though - the only thing that could excite me about Disney Springs is if they end up putting some nighttime entertainment options back in. And I am not talking about bowling.

I really wonder if the work they are doing at DTD is intended to appeal more to locals. Movie Theaters, Bowling Alleys, High end restaurants. Maybe that grabs some people's tourist dollar, but it certainly doesn't get mine.

I think Disney Springs does really need to appeal to locals as well as guests. Specialist restaurants and merchandise that you can't get anywhere else is exactly what is needed though

The landing I think will be a huge place that will really try to attract locals. As for shopping the marketplace co-op is a great start for specialized merchandise.

Sadly, Pete... You know you won't find what you seek.

They don't want entertainment for the sake of entertainment anymore...

Except in parks... Where it's $100 to set foot in the place and cheaper than building rides... Of course.

I'm expecting a "really nice" mall...but in the end...a mall.

Kungaloosh

I find the co-op to be cheap and distasteful like all Disney product for 10+ years.

The fact that its apparently popular is a huge indictment on the consumers...

Where they chase a mirage across
The desert..and when they find out its fake... They drink the sand

Well I guess I like it and one of the reasons it's popular is because it's something different than the generic walt Disney world 2014 stuff you find everywhere. I only bought one thing from there and it was the try the grey stuff plate. I'm sure women like the bags and make up sections. I looked in the d tech section but nothing caught my eye except the resort phone cases but they had a big DVC member sticker on them and I not a DVC member so that turned me away. We stayed at POR in July and it's one of my favorites but I wish there was some resort specific merchandise. HM is a start and the rumor is a jungle cruise store is coming next year. A tower of terror line is coming out soon for the end of the ride gift shop as well.
