This has been our preferred spot. After Illuminations we walk into Les Chefs and have a Creme Brulee and coffee while the crowd clears out.

That's a great idea! Do you mean you go to the patisserie? And how long are they open after illuminations? Usually the park closes afterwards, so I'm surprised they would be open

You can't find a "good spot"?

I mean...when are you there?
When I'm not teaching in that metropolis you live across the river from. Typically end of July/beginning of August. It may just be that I'm not willing to camp out since I find enough to do in WS until 9pm, or it may be that I'm always near Canada or between Mexico and the middle that there's not much of a view. A few people suggested where to take a look from, I'll try it out either next weekend (doubtful as it is a super-short trip) or next summer.

Play the wind though. Can really clear it up-and enjoy the Holiday ending of course.

We seem to get lucky on some spots between Norway and UK (a couple spots have very few trees), also France bridge, and others have mentioned that Mexico area.

The other night we stood just in front of the XMAS Tree-really was good but the really low stuff was blocked. But unless you were right in front (and it was like 20 or more deep) it was no different.

By the way-we did Fantasmic before Illuminations twice that week if you have a hopper or AP and the desire.

Big penguin fan, huh?

No...what I meant was what qualifies as a "good spot"?

Granted I've been there probably about 150 times when they've gone off...but I don't see the difficulty in fireworks....just me - I suppose

Penguins? Bah, they can stay on the other side.

The rotating globe and other things happening on the water I guess are hard to see. Perhaps the show is underwhelming as I've believed. Who knows.

Oh...that's the part where you can take a potty break.

Two things in that show are not interesting - the flames at the beginning and the ball sequences.

What's great about it is the bursts and the score...which is why it is still ok after going on 20 years. It is very dated though and should have already been replaced if we're honest. And they've thinned it out over the years to cut costs...not as obviously as the old one in magic kingdom - but still.

I think I get you now.
