Robert Downey Jr. Says a iron man 4 is in the works on Ellen today.
Don't forget Test Track. That and RnRC have the BEST single rider lines. You actually short-cut the FP people!
I think I saw somewhere that RDJ held out for a fortune to do avengers 2...
I think Avengers 2 was part of his contract. IM4 was probably the one he negotiated big bucks to do.
I heard the big bucks was for IM4 as well. The latest rumor is that Marvel is looking towards 2nd tier characters for Avengers 3 in order milk the solo movies of the current big names ... probably RDJ was only the beginning of expensive re-negotiations. see:

Why is this so difficult?! The same number of people can ride the ride. In stead of standing in line for 2 hours you are given a time to come back in 1.5 hours. How terrible. It would be so much better to stand in line!
.....
I think you're missing the point based on the last time this was attempted. And no, it's not the same number of people.
Once the maximum number of passes were issued the remaining folks were told they couldn't ride the attraction. That didn't go over so well.
Right now a fastpass isn't needed - you can show up at a park and ride without any advanced planning, and there's no set limit on the number of guests (except when Disney considers a park 'full'). If everyone is required to follow the fastpass concept for all attractions then Disney is faced with either turning folks back who didn't plan, or perhaps even turning people away completely at the park entrance once ride capacity for the day has been reached. Again what would happen of all of the attractions follow this concept and the maximum number of potential riders is reached several days out, or even two months out during a peak time of year?
People who get on line before park closing, OK maybe 30 minutes before park closing, will be able to ride even an hour past park closing. I doubt Disney will be issuing FPs which require running the ride past park closing. Capacity will be reduced. No singles line. No stand by line. There will be gaps. Effective capacity will be reduced.
Current system. A person can ride any attraction, if they are willing to wait. You may only have enough time to ride 3 or 4 major attractions but a guest who is willing to wait an hour (or more) can ride whatever they want.
Proposed system. A person entering the park might be unable to ride one or more attractions. The old system was transparent. Any guest could walk up the FP machine and get a pass. Any guest can walk up to the stand by line and wait. The new systems makes it easy for Disney to treat different guests differently.
That's one of their overall goals spread people out. If you wait 30 minutes at star tours and 30 minutes at GMR Disney sees this better than waiting 60 minutes for star tours. Again like you said their biggest goal is to get you in restaurants and shops to spend more money. There's another piece of this that I see almost completely missing from other discussions: Where do those people go if there not standing in line for TSMM? The answer Disney hopes for is "The stores and restaurants to spend more money" and while this is partly true, the fact is a lot of them will be moving on to other attractions. That means longer lines. Eliminate a 100 minute line at TSMM, and you add ten minutes to RnRC, 10 minutes to Star Tours, GMR, ToT, it becomes harder to get a seat at Indiana Jones, etc.... So, not only can I only ride TSMM ONCE now, I have to wait in longer line elsewhere. I prefer all those people in line at TSMM.

Yes my main point was they want people to be spending money and not be in lines if you can ride two rides in the amount of time it takes to ride one then you should have more time to be in shops. I've heard that Disney's magic number is 10 if you get at least 10 experiences in a day than the normal guest is happy. So that being said disney aims to get you your ten experiences so I've heard.No...I have to disagree... The goals are: 1. Increase giftshop time 2. Shorten the park operational schedule by allowing customers to experience more things in shorter wait times (particularly useful on the fly in lighter crowds) 3. Predict to 100% where people will be to cut down staff accordingly. No offense - but to think they give a mouse dootie about the comfort and length of lines is naive. They care only in relation to what it means to per person purchasing and operational overhead costs. Ok... Sorry...I just reread your post and I "mostly" agree...the devils in the details.

On point number 2, I too have thought about a reduced park operation schedule and recently wondered if a shortened schedule would translate into Halloween and/or Christmas party type 'after hour' hard ticket events throughout the year. It's already been demonstrated that people will pay upwards of 165 bucks for a few hours in the park if you give them a unique theme and some low cost desserts. Compare that to a hundred bucks for an entire day in the park and the profit margin looks pretty good.
Do I think they could cut the days in half...leaving hard ticket events and...ohhh...I don't know DISNEY SPRINGS???
...the thought never even occurred![]()
