There is a phone number in the article. I believe that goes directly to Morimoto Asia. Also, reservations start tomorrow on OpenTable.

Not technically officially announced, but the link below is an official WDW website.

You'd think that they would run them (Seasons of the Force) right into (or in conjunction with) the Star Wars 1/2 marathons.

Well the Disneyland half marathon is in January.
So you could conceivably do it from that 1/2 until the DW half in DL and then from the DW half until the 2nd weekend in June like normal SWW in DHS. That'd be two seasons (one on each coast) each with a 1/2 marathon as the beginning.

Unfortunately Disney doesn't use rundisney like that.

I guess I understand the whining about this because well - Disney fans whine about EVERYTHING. "If Star Wars was a true expansion for Disneyland, it wouldn't interfere with any existing rides. This is looking less and less attractive." How ridiculous.

Cause really - what's the problem? They aren't actually taking out any rides.

1) The railroad will still be there with a slightly modified route.
2) Tom Sawyer Island will still be there - the less used Northern half will be gone.
3) Rivers of America will be sized down by about 25 %. However, it looks like a showier Northern border might get put in with more to see. However, both ships will still run.
4) Really the petting zoo is probably the biggest loss - but how upset should we be that a billion dollar theme park doesn't have a petting zoo in the year 2015.

As has been pointed out - something like 25 % of the area of DL is taken up by the Rivers of America and the Railroad. The footprint of Disneyland is extremely limited - it does not have the breath of size to allow for expansion the way WDW has. You can't just rip out backstage areas - those areas are as vital to park operations as on-stage.

Plus the RR would swing way out. Your going to have a Star Wars land with a railroad running through it? This is necessary. Disneyland is NOT a museum.

I think the main problem people have with this is that construction will shut down Fantasmic!, the railroad, Tom Sawyer Island and the boats. All during the big 60th Anniversary celebration.

From what I've heard it's very possible Tom Sawyer island will be different when this is all said and done.

Otherwise yes I agree with everything you said.

Well yes but no. The closures are happening in 2016. The 60th year is 2015 so they had a very good 2015 in terms of closures and refurbs. Fantasmic is also supposed to reopen with enhancements. Anniversary celebrations never used to run 18 months.

Then you also have the people that believe Star Wars shouldn't be its own land in walts orginal park.

But... but... but... they're CHANGING things. Change is BAD!

Ughh. I get it, you bought your very first Disneyland popcorn bucket over at Tom Sawyer Island and you have really good memories of eating popcorn over there as a child... Time to move on. It's really frustrating that some DL locals are so determined to convert the park into a museum. Walt wanted the park to change and evolve. Move on.

Can you imagine if they had decided to close Toontown instead of the petting zoo?

Actually I think they would've been more ok with that.

As for the petting zoo most people don't care about losing that but losing major attractions for a year plus is what is causing an uproar. Then the rerouting of the mark twain.

Apparently Tom Sawyer island is the only piece of Disneyland that Walt designed himself.

Some one brought up a good point on wdwmagic about the whole Disneyland isn't a museum thing. If Disney announced tomorrow that instead of sleeping beauty castle it will now be Elsas ice palace. Uproar would be over the top of course. So where do you draw the line of what stays forever and what doesn't?
