I for one can't believe tables in wonderland will always be there...can you? They could discontinue it tomorrow to try and force people into the dining plan and suffer few ill effects except perhaps some grumbling from Florida.

And some DVC members saying Disney treats them like second-class citizens.

It looks like the TSMM third track might open earlier than expected

I can't think of a change at WDW that will have less of an affect on me personally than this. We typically ride this ride 2-3 times a trip but use rope drop/FP to do so. A third track will not really change this. (I'm not waiting in a 90 minute line for this ride, but I'm also not waiting in a shortened 45 minute ride for it either.)

To me, the only effect a third track has on me is negative, because it means other people are spending less time waiting in line on this ride, meaning instead they will now be taking up space in other queues, making other lines longer. Way to ruin my vacation Disney with your extra rides tracks and third theaters!!!! (I am just joking, here folks.)

im guessing they did this in preparation of the overall expansion of the park knowing more people will be coming and when i say more im thinking maybe 3 million more visitors a year... this helps with capacity.... it certainly doesnt get me to visit the park in 2016 but i get it

I'm interested to see if one track becomes fast pass only or not.

i doubt it will be ready by the end of this year but maybe early next year in preparation for the big construction in the back lot tour area.

Given the small number of operational attractions at DHS right now, the only thing that will make a substantial difference is going to be new attractions opening. On the plus side, of the attractions that I enjoy - only 2 of them have substantial problems with lines. Tower of Terror moves pretty well, as does Star Tours and Great Movie Ride. I enjoy Rock N Roller Coaster, but I never feel like I absolutely MUST get on the ride.

Not so sure about that. I think this is one of those programs that they do want to keep around. There needs to be some incentive to have AP holders, FL residents and DVC members coming onto property for dinner, thus translating to more $ elsewhere. Without knowing true numbers, my sense is that the TIW card is extremely small peanuts in the big scheme of things and probably means translates into very little loss of revenue for them. I bet it slides under the radar for a very long time to come. Just my opinion...

But there may be MORE people in line with a 3rd track and reduced waits, which would be either a positive or a zero gain.

Oh I hear you...you're gonna get screwed...and in many ways always did. I can remeber $10 Mickey waffles at th disney inn in 1989...

But I think the "screw quotient" under the CMB regime is much higher than any other price point in wdw history.

And I don't like the stadium or movie theater comparison...because you can choose not to partake for 2-5 hours...

Hard to do on a 7 night MYW Package.

It was just a generalized example but the concept is the same. You go to any theme park in the land and you will find much the same. Convenience has always had a fee attached. What that fee is, is determined on what the market will bear. If YOU were running the parks, would you not want to maximize your dollar? At the end of the day, it is a business first and foremost.

Sure it is and they will look to maximize their profits, but that doesn't make it invalid to point out if you feel they are no longer offering value for money.

Personally I can swallow the park ticket prices much more easily despite their increases than I can the cost of meals.

That is the key word there. FEEL. It is a feeling. It is very subjective. Personally, there is still a lot of PERCEIVED value for my crew as we will be eating signatures almost every night of our 14 day stay. For us, the experiential value far outweighs the monetary value. We save all year to be able to live and spend like we want on our vacation. For us, Disney is the best experiential value on the planet. Your individual results may vary. :)

Well most things about food are personal not factual (outside of nutrition values). However again I would argue that while the experience of a Disney Park is still exceptional the experience of eating in a Disney Park is much less special. And I accept it for what it is, I just find it hard to comprehend people lauding it as fine dining.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. That is the great thing about the human experience. My experience is different than yours. As such, I see things in a different light I guess. Looking through my Mickey glasses shows me a much different world than yours do and that is a great thing. Cheeers!

I think the overall numbers for tables in wonderland usage is small...

Which means while it's probably a drop in the bucket...in their mind they might say "they'll come anyway"...which will be the legacy of the Iger era in wdw...and just kill it anyway.

The problem with that thought is that "trash" and "treasure" are somewhat fixed terms...

Not everything is up for debate like on a cable news pundit show.

Disney restaurants are "not fine dining"...nah. They can be good...if a tad overpriced.

Disney and their partners offer a wide selection of choices for most everyone. While many aren't "fine dining," the food is meant to reinforce and enhance the story being told by the architecture and cast. Epcot is perhaps the best example of that at work, with well blended restaurants into the surroundings. Traditional fine dining offerings wouldn't fit in very well, and would in all honesty be lost on most guests who just couldn't grasp it in a theme park.

With that said...

Not all restaurants are created equal, and the same goes for WDW property offerings. Victoria and Albert's most notably (4 Star Forbes Rating) is a glaring exception. The establishment has recieved acclaim from not only normal guests, but also the more professional reviewers.

You just need to know where to look. I'll leave it here because I'm guessing the "I follow this thread for news" people are going to come out soon. We've been a little more talkative on here than some like.

Before I finish, I think Disneyland quick service is superior to WDW. They had pretty good selection, and food quality seemed higher. I think having to compete with a whole block of restaurants a 5 minute walk away helps. Compared to MK, in which you're trapped, Disneyland has a ton of competition on the food front.

I think my husband and I are the only two people in the world who do not get the big deal about TSMM. We've ridden it a few times and just don't get it. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Toy Story movies.
