Is it just me, or does this sound like a more expensive version of 1900 Park Fare breakfast, but without characters?

I would say it looks like slightly better fare than park fare...pun intended.

But the price is ridiculous... As usual...

And credits!!! HOW MANY CREDITS DOES IT USE!!! And WHEN CAN I MAKE ADRs!!!! DD NEEDS THIS!

umm...cough...ok. As far as the blog goes...I hope Rachel gets paid for her time and her dignity.:rolleyes1

I agree at least with the commenter asking about non-meat options. WDW is not making much of an effort here. I'm a full-on carnivore, so I get by, but I have family members who find themselves pretty much limited to one uninspired salad choice. Higher end dining, even more than the mid-market/casual fare, supports good meatless food choices.

I like it, with that said ill pass on a ridiculous priced meal yet again

Don't get me wrong... I like it... Well, used to really like it... Now it's more like "occasionally pleasantly surprised"...

But this is the second time I've seen "fine dining" in a few days...

Rowling has a good amount of control hence why Disney didn't get potter. Disney wasn't willing to give her the control she wanted, universal was.
and universal while it rejuvinated that parks has had to deal with her attitude. She is very picky and universal has to make many seemingly silly changes because she wasnt happy. just ask team members about the stages in both parks

... They seems to be none the worse for wear...

And rightfully so, in my opinion. If she hadn't been as picky as she was when she first signed for the films, Steven Spielberg would've made the Harry Potter films in the United States with American actors and cheerleaders in the quidditch pitch. You can't blame her for not wanting to see the world she created in a tacky amusement park setting (not saying Universal is one of those).

Sometimes you have to be picky if you want something to succeed. I'm sure Cameron and Lasseter are not easy to work with either (no clue about Lucas). But hey, maybe that's actually a good thing. At least it seems to be working for both Disney and Universal.

If your argument is that a theme park having someone in the driving seat who has a very clear artistic vision and a refusal to accept second best, is a bad thing, that'd seem to be an odd point to make in a forum named for Walt.

Since we don't know what kind of a dog's dinner Universal would have made if Rowling had been entirely hands-off, we only have one data-point, which as you say is that Universal has done extremely well off the back of her attitude. Also, they signed to contract, and new what they were getting into.

[edit] oops, sorry for the pile-on, I was typing rather slowly.

They need to fix that then. Why would anyone want to the see the backside of a building driving past AK? Seems way out of place in my opinion.

actually the old owners signed the deal and comcast just went along with it. they really didnt have any say as the deal included both areas in both parks

You saw backstage stuff there before the big building...

There isn't much you can do there the building goes right up against a service road. When in Disneyland and even partially WDW when taking the monorail you can see the backs of buildings and stuff. The back of carsland is just a giant themed wall.

I listened to the latest Disney Dish Podcast with Jim Hill today (yes I know Jim Hill, I was bored in Study Hall)

It was regarding the Disney Villains. He had some interesting points, news and observations.

Disney Channel Original movie Descendents was the best Tv original movie according to viewership this year.

There has been interest in bringing some of the characters from that movie to the parks.

Hades is the most popular villain

Jennifer Hudson started her singing career before Idol on a the Disney Wonder in a Disney villains show.

First choice for hades in Hercules was Jack Nicholson but he wanted too much for the role.

Hades was modeled after Katzenberg (just add some glasses and compare)

Disney had wanted a villains event at DHS for nearly a decade but it didn't happen until 2013 for limited time magic

The Hocus Pocus show that debuted tonight is trying to bring the popular villains back, and is kind of in place of that event.

I feel like this jumped out at me though. Somehow I haven't noticed other backstage stuff like this one. It really caught my eye
