News Round Up

Alright, so I just want to make sure I understand this and am keeping up with this thread...when I am at DHS in mid-November, basically all the shows are going to be closed (Indiana Jones, Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast) as well as OMD and AoA?

When I'm figuring out my FPs, basically the only thing we know will be open is ToT, RnRR, TSMM, Star Tours, and GMR. Then there's the Muppet 3D show, F! and Osborne Lights. Am I missing anything? Am I forgetting any rumors of anything new that might be there in mid-November? Oh - and I will make sure not to miss that sound stage sitting room that they've set up :rotfl:

Indy, Mermaid, and B&B are not confirmed, just rumors. Lights, Motor, Action is another rumor that's been floating around a while now. AOA is confirmed and already closed. OMD is not confirmed, but looking incredibly likely, since they just moved out Walt's office. There are some concerns that Fantasmic is shutting down too, because it's not on Disney's calendar after this year. However, that's probably just typical bad scheduling on Disney's part. I don't think it's closing.

I can't see fantasmic going anywhere. I do however see enhancements being made and they are likely to utilize the amphitheater during the day.

Thanks! I think that's where I was getting confused between rumors (although from what seem like credible sources/experts on here) and what has been confirmed. Thanks for clarifying!!

Wait? They r closing B&B and Indy too before Nov?

Yeah - Don't sweat those thing. OMD and Little Mermaid *might* be closed. The others won't be. I still suspect what Disney is planning is a gradual park do-over. They'll start with Toy Story Land, and not close the stuff in the other side of the park until that's open. It'll take longer that way (which makes Disney happy) and will keep new things coming (which I'm sure they hope will keep guests coming.)

Jim Podcast Musings:

I won't comment on Jim's "musings" which are usually worthless, but this last one seems overly optimistic. Unless we consider "multiple" to be "two".

Wait, is he saying there are more rumors of other things still coming to DHS?

Cars = RSR?

That's an awful lot of stuff to add.

Indy, Mermaid, and B&B are not confirmed, just rumors.
I made my FP+ this morning and Indy was listed as "closed for refurbishment" on our DHS day, 10/22. I don't see it on any rehab lists, so who knows if this means they are actually refurbing it or it's getting ready to close. Either way I'm disappointed since we didn't see it last trip and DS was really excited for it. B&B and Mermaid were available to select.

Oh boy :(
My DS will be so bummed
He did see it twice last year so hopefully we can keep him happy and do Muppets instead

These images make total sense but then again, we may be looking into this too much

That's a great job whoever did that. I think the Toy Story Land location seems like a done deal. The Star Wars land as they illustrate it makes a lot of sense as well. I've always questioned the idea that they would build it in the Echo Lake area, and I always thought they would build it BACK from Star Tours, but this really DOES make a lot of sense.

Most interesting of all is if this is the scenario - it shows a HUGE area of land still not occupied by new park expansion. (The whole back section of the park with the LMA, parts of Backlot tour, and Streets of America.) That would say to be that at the least a THIRD land will be coming, if not 3 and 4.

They just upgraded the Fantasmic projectors, it's still immensely popular and it's out of the way of any of the potential building zones. Pretty sure that one is going nowhere.

Im still certain that Disney are keeping some land in mind for a new Indiana Jones attraction somewhere. The rest of the land would support Jim Hills theory of more Pixar areas though

That's an awful lot of stuff to add.

There's been a long running rumor about a reduced version of Cars Land coming to DHS. Given that it's not clear what's announced really adds up to $2.8 billion I guess that rumor remains semi-credible.

That would make sense since they have been talking about the next Indiana Jones movie. It is going to be a completely different park come 2021. I am little surprised they didn't announce the new name at D23.
