I kind of thought they wouldn't announce the new name. These lands are artist impressions. They may not even be finalised or agreed by the boards totally so i think they are going to see how it pans out and maybe next D23 they'll announce more areas for DHS and a new name.

Hollywood Adventure still sounds most likely but since D23, Ive gone off that name when we see the kind of lands they are adding.

I was thinking they might remove "Hollywood" from the name altogether, separate it from California more...maybe Florida Adventureland? But I really hope they come up with something completely different and special.

It's more likely they drop studios than anything because it's not a studio anymore.

Yeah, based on the total volume of the addition (25 acres) you have to think that there is more in the works. Since the park is listed at 135 acres, it's seems very likely that at least 40-50 acres is available for new stuff. My guess is you have (a) Toy Story, (b) Star Wars, (c) something else. Since they aren't willing to plop all that money out at once, the timelines will be something like (a) 2015-2018, (b) 2017-2020, (c) 2019-2022, with each section taking ~3 years to complete and some level of overlap possible as well. (Example: Deconstruction of the Star Wars area on-going while construction in Toy Story is nearing completion.)

If that's the mode, It didn't make any sense for them to announce whatever the third thing is because (1) it's too far away and (2) it could well change before anything hits the ground.

At this stage - I just want to see those wrecking balls moving into the studio backlot for Toy Story land. Shovels in the ground people!

Universal might be purchasing theme park rights to Konami's video games soon. Orlando Informer's inside source has been solid, they knew much of the Halloween Horror Nights line up(even their code names), inside info on the Hulk Refurb(with more coming tonight), as well as the Hello Kitty shop, inside info on Kong and others.

Cool. I think this is a HUGE untapped market segment. You have no idea how much I'd love to see certain video games become attractions...not even just Nintendo or Konami. Imagine a Portal attraction.

Thanks.
Sorry I didn't even realize that I just posted the link

You can see it by plane, 10 miles south of Clermont, or more conveniently from your armchair online at the Lake County Property Appraiser’s website: A very clear Mickey Mouse head just south of Lake Louisa.

The “Mickey Forest” was planted from pine trees in 1992, 23 years ago, following the years of severe freezes that killed a lot of the citrus trees that once grew in the area. It was part of a reforestation program in Lake and Orange Counties that Disney was sponsoring, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

“In addition to making the land more beautiful, the trees will provide habitat, replenish oxygen in the atmosphere, stabilize soil and provide straw for mulch, Katy Moss Warner, general manager of Parks Horticulture for Disney World told the Sentinel at the time.

Back then, Disney owned a couple thousand acres in Lake County that it has since sold. But Mickey remains clearer now than when he was planted with seedlings just a few inches tall across about 60 acres in the middle of a 150-acre tract.

However, its future is uncertain.

The land is owned by Lake Louisa LLC, which is owned by Patriot Transportation in Jacksonville. Patriot has entered into a lease with CEMEX Construction Materials, which has plans to build a 600-acre sand mine on the land. Lake County’s planning staff said CEMEX wants to dig a million tons of sand a year from the mine, the Sentinel reported. The operation would have an economic impact of $4.7 million a year on the county, the company said.

Facing a lot of opposition from landowners in the area, and expressing worries that the operation would thwart the county’s attempt to create a health-oriented community in the area where the mine is planned, a sector plan called Wellness Way, the county denied the request.

In response, CEMEX sued Lake County and some other parties involved in the opposition.
“We think, as the owners, that this is a wonderful piece of property," said John D. Milton Jr., executive vice president and chief financial officer, and secretary and treasurer of Patriot Transportation. “We love the area and we love the dynamics for the future potential there. We think it will be wonderful as a sand mine. Disney World had to have a lot of it. You can’t make concrete without sand.”

I just can't see that working out for Star Wars. No arguments on TSL, and the nice space that leaves for more Pixar in the back corner of the park.
The place they've pegged for SWL creeps all the way up into Hollywood Boulevard. There's got to be something of a buffer (Echo Lake) between the two. I can't imagine what an awkward transition it would make.

I still think something like this makes more sense: http://s843.photobucket.com/user/loaloauk/media/DLP that never was/dhsswland2.jpg.html

I made my FP+ this morning and Indy was listed as "closed for refurbishment" on our DHS day, 10/22. I don't see it on any rehab lists, so who knows if this means they are actually refurbing it or it's getting ready to close. Either way I'm disappointed since we didn't see it last trip and DS was really excited for it. B&B and Mermaid were available to select.

It could be a fluke/glitch. TSMM was showing as no FP+ availability for the second half of October. Then boom, all of a sudden they were all available. CMs couldn't really explain it, because nothing said it was being refurbed. This just happened within the last week or two. So, the Disney Internet Strikes Back.

Yeah - I trust the TSL spot, but the SWL spot to me is not a sure thing. I agree with you that if anything they would likely push it back from there - behind the Echo lake area would be the entrance.

Yeah TSL i reckon is a cert in that location, taking up Animation Courtyard and sweeping back behind TSMM.
