News Round Up 2021

I think the first news of returning fireworks in any form at the Magic Kingdom will probably be some announcement of what will be happening for the 50th celebration. If they do end up having a special 50th firework show I don't think people will mind not having something during these holiday after hour events.

It depends on the price. After Hours and Villains After Hours did not have fireworks, but they did run HEA beforehand and event attendees could be in park to see them. I think this is positioned to be more like those (without stage shows). The fireworks, if they do run, will likely not be Halloween themed.
I agree. This even has "After Hours" in the name- not party. So it sounds a LOT like the Villains After Hours we attended a couple years ago, but with the candy they usually give out at MNSSHP. I'd expect around $100 for tickets and only fireworks if HEA is back on and runs before.

Disney After Hours BOO BASH Coming to Magic Kingdom in 2021

“Disney After Hours BOO BASH” will take place on select nights, Aug. 10 – Oct. 31, from 9 p.m. to midnight*. Spooky festivities will include Halloween-themed cavalcades, character sightings throughout the park, special performances by the Cadaver Dans, décor, lighting, music, treat stops with plenty of candy and so much more!

Tickets will go on sale next month, with an early purchase window available to guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Click here for more information and stay tuned for more details to come.
Might be in the minority but this is exact what I expected, some event to happen even if it didn’t look exactly like the parties.

Although they’re really dedicated to not bringing back fireworks eh?

I just don't think they know when they can bring back fireworks. Don't think they are purposely trying to not bring them back. If a 50th anniversary firework show is in the works you have to imagine that will be the only show they have no matter what party/after hours event they have. I really believe they are just waiting until they can actually announce this all.

I think you are spot on. If they can run fireworks in October it will simplify matters to just run the one show. If they can't, they they haven't promised an MNSSHP level event and have to cut fireworks.

It’s been discussed to death and all but confirmed it’s a money decision. Other theme parks/resorts are back to doing fireworks. We aren’t really fireworks people so it wasn’t a complaint. I feel like fireworks is part of what separates the parties from events and why were seeing an AH event instead of MNSSHP. Again, not complaining, I actually prefer after hours and no fireworks doesn’t make or break our experience.

Sorry just reread. Perhaps a special 50th show is in the works for each evening. We’ll see.

I think when they can increase capacity they will bring back fireworks because they will be making more in ticket revenues, but since nobody really knows when that will be, they just aren't saying anything.

You’re probably right. It’s probably the same reason they talked about masks for Halloween, because they haven’t made/announced any change to the mask policy and they don’t want to deal with any hassles if they can’t/don’t make any changes before then. Plus, if anyone is making their costumes, this gives them the opportunity to make sure they have a coordinating mask if they need one.

I think we will see something in Epcot before anything else. Epcot is a cash cow for them. People spend money hand over fist when in that park on food and drink all day so the cost to keep people from leaving for a closing event will justify it. Ultimately that's all those events are is to keep you there spending your money.

I would like to see a poll of how many people eat on Disney property in its current state vs leave and eat else where of do some sort of delivery service. I know that we have been bring more things for breakfast and dinner to cook in our DVC villa then ever before. this will be our 6th full week trip coming up in July

I do think HarmonioUS will be first because of the contsant work on it and the fact that Epcot can spread the crowds out the most and has the highest capacity in general.

Yeah it’s probably much easier for WDW to set the expectation of masks or no fireworks until they are 100% confident they can be changed.

It would be a huge Guest Services headache if they scheduled tentative dates now only to revert back later. Can imagine the line at GS with people saying ‘We only planned this trip because you said there’d be fireworks (or no masks)’.

I still have hopes for fireworks returning soon.. early June… too optimistic? Lol

My fingers are crossed for this! I'm going in mid-October, so I'm hoping fireworks are back by then. Surely with the 50th Anniversary starting October 1st, they will have them!

I find it strange that they are reducing hours as they are going into the busiest travel times of the year. Add to that with the possible "increases" in capacity, and the opening of more hotels and cast member call backs just doesnt add up my 2 pennies

Wait, do you not "believe" the report? There are screenshots
