I will shed no tears for Stitch's great escape or Primeval Whirl, but I thought Rivers of Light was decent.
Well just as a reminder for anybody that misses Primeval Whirl, 682 of these have been built across the globe. Fun Spot Kissimmee has one and is only a couple miles from Animal Kingdom, and most amusement parks have one in varying styles (spinning, wooden, etc.)
Yep.We already knew about Stitch, right?
Primeval I guess we kind of knew was coming.
ROL I thought was ok, just never lived up to the hype (from Disney).
The only things these were good for was eating some crowds on the overcrowded days.
I'm guessing we wont see any of those for a while,![]()

Yep.
RoL was a surprise me due to the fact they could’ve billed it as the only nighttime show at WDW for a time. They could’ve distanced the theater and it doesn’t need actors.
Noting that Universal Studios was up 2% (same as HS which opened a whole land) and Islands of Adventure (which had Hagrid's open) was up by 6%
Ya I’m fond of the humor within it. It’s one of my favorites of that model. And Disney has well maintained it compared to most other places. If it wasn’t for the financial situation, this would’ve had me seriously worried about the short term future of Dinoland, or which I am a huge fan. I just hope Dinorama gets addressed rather than the land as a whole when the time comes.I know it’s an off the shelf ride system, but I think Primeval Whirl is hilarious. None of the other rides like this around the country poke fun at the ride just around the corner from it. To me, that’s the funniest thing about Primeval Whirl - that it’s a cheesy, carnival version of the Dinosaur storyline.
Super, super bummed about Rivers of Light. I love Animal Kingdom, especially so at night, and nighttime entertainment made it a complete experience in my opinion.
Well, at least there's still Flaming Tree bar b que. One of our favorite lunch spots at AK, tons of outdoor seating. Personally I wouldn't mind if that Dino land area goes away entirely.Super, super bummed about Rivers of Light. Rivers of Light was a bit flawed in its execution, but I loved the ideas it attempted and its imagery. Taking it away permanently will go a long way towards reverting AK to a “half-day” park in my opinion. That, and it’s now going to have empty stadium seating in full view in the middle of the park.
Been with the company for a while. In the grand scheme of things it’s a position I’m surprised they didn’t just eliminate during this time. Josh is still her boss. What is known about Jill Estorino? Replacing Mike Colglazer as head of Parks International.

I was just about to say that now we can have the "How long will Primeval Whirl and the Rivers Of Light Stadium be standing there abandoned" speculation. (Obviously they could put a new show in the ROL stadium but that's not happening any time soon unless they can reuse all the same floats).I know most others won't care but I will miss Rivers of Light a lot. I loved that show.
It will be odd to close Primeval Whirl. It's giant and you can't hide it like Stitch's Great Escape. That is very bad show. Unless they plan to tear it down anytime soon. Which I can't see them doing because it costs money to do that.
Saying Stitches Great Escape permanently closing -- we already knew about. Surprised that even had to be an official announcement.
Neither attraction was operating in the current climate anyways. AK likely won’t increase hours until attendance is able to increase. So now AK has two less attractions and no reason to stay late? Back to being a half-day park?
