Supposedly they are aiming for early January.
I see that. A month ago they were saying soft opening mid December with reservations starting Jan. 3rd.

You also have to remember construction and operations are not done by Disney for this. The third party which is the owners of planet Hollywood are what's taking this so long. Same thing with the Edison. That's was supposed to open this year at some point, now it's spring 2017 if it makes that.I see that. Well they have the smokestack mostly completed. They have started enclosing the back and one side of the building from pictures I've seen. The Edison building is still pretty much a bare frame at this point.
Side note: I watched the drone show last night. It was cute. Definitely not worth a trip to DS just for that, but certainly worth stopping what you're doing for 5 mins if you are already there.

Well I wouldn't set expectations too high. It's a cool show but very short.I live in Jax and was planning to go down on Saturday to see the show, as my hubby is really into drones. Now I'm kind of concerned we might be disappointed...

Yep, the thought of drone tech is really cool to me. The show was intended to be longer but there were some issues tracking over water due to reflections and such things. The show worked better overview land but then you run in the problem of having people around.I made a trip to DS just for the show (though with a travel time of only 10 minutes, it's much less of an investment) and definitely thought it was worth it - especially if you can appreciate the show for the technology as well as the story. It's only 5 minutes, so that is something to consider. But I still enjoy watching it after several shows just because I really enjoy the idea of using the drones and 3D gps mapping, and considering everything that goes into the development of the show.
